Banquet Manager

Job Description

Position Overview: Cheeca Lodge & Spa is seeking an experienced Banquet Manager to oversee our banquet operations and restaurant services, including events at Morada Bay. This leadership role involves managing banquet events, coordinating with the Director of Food & Beverage, and ensuring exceptional guest experiences. 

Weddings, reunions, and corporate events - breakfasts, lunches, and dinners...we do it all here at Cheeca and Morada Bay. Cheeca boasts the top end in quality, execution, and product. Candidates need to represent optimal leadership and organizational skills with a minimal of 5+ years in banquet management at the luxury level as well as be experienced in ala minute and synchronized service as well as “parading”.

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct, oversee and carefully manage this multi-million dollar and multi-room/area facility
• Event Management: Plan and execute all banquet events at Cheeca Lodge & Spa and Morada Bay, including weddings, corporate events, and social functions.
• Guest Interaction: Engage with guests to ensure satisfaction, handle requests, and resolve complaints efficiently.
• Staff Supervision: Recruit, train, and manage banquet and restaurant staff, ensuring adherence to resort standards and policies.
• Operational Oversight: Collaborate with sales and culinary teams to prepare for events, manage inventory, and maintain compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Financial Management: Control labor and operating expenses through effective budgeting and inventory management.

Event Venues:

• Islamorada Ballroom: The largest in the Upper Florida Keys with 10,000 square feet, ideal for corporate events and large gatherings.
• Morada Bay: Offers picturesque venues for weddings, corporate retreats, and social functions, featuring the Beach Café and Pierre’s Restaurant, known for their stunning sunset views and exceptional cuisine.
• Meeting Rooms and Suites: Smaller meeting rooms featuring sizes for all types of events.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in food and beverage management, with at least 1 year in a luxury resort setting.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with event management software is a plus.
• Fluent in English; Spanish proficiency is a plus.
• Must already be eligible to work in the USA - sorry no sponsorships.
