The BARTENDE - LOBBY LOUNGE & BELLA VISTA TERRACE is to provide highest service standards and enjoyable guest experience. To possess thorough understanding of food offerings, prepare and offer high quality craft cocktails and other beverages with focus on salesmanship. To maintain efficient organization of the bar and outlet, as well as clean and aesthetic appeal.

The expected base wage range for this position is: $16 per hour, or other minimum wage applicable to the jurisdiction. This position may be eligible for additional compensation according to the Company's policies, as they may be amended from time to time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • To understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner, deferring to the Outlets Manager when necessary, to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • To extend a courteous, friendly, and professional demeanor with all guests at all times.
  • To demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the company's diverse food and beverage selections (plating/garnish/glassware) and effectively prepare and articulate them to guests.
  • To provide properly mixed cocktails and other beverages, as requested.
  • To follow specified procedures to open and close the bar according to department SOP’s.
  • To continuously interact with guests to ensure a professional, and personalized service.
  • To maintain adequate stock of beverages and bar supplies, in accordance with established pars and routine procedures, and be responsible for the security of beverage stock while on duty.
  • To maintain adequate stock of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables to ensure product quality and FIFO, in accordance with established pars and routine procedures.
  • To maintain at all times an adequate stock of clean bar glassware.
  • To review and verify previous shift's inventory, at the beginning of every shift and prepare bar stock/items requisition for the following shift.
  • To maintain the proper care and organization of the portable bar area at all times, including emptying trash as needed.
  • To maintain the proper care and cleanliness of tableware and serving equipment, handling both to minimize breakage.
  • Use one’s expert knowledge to create innovative drinks and cocktails that explore the boundaries of flavors and introduce cocktails to the Outlets Manager for possible menu/special use.
  • To follow all specified procedures to correctly handle cash, including maintaining adequate cash amount in bank; giving correct change for cash transactions; ringing all drinks through the Micros system; and accurately processing credit cards and room charges.
  • To accurately manage end of shift reporting in Micros of tips, cash transactions, credit card transactions, room charges, and house accounts along with following cash drop procedures.
  •  To assist other team members with duties to ensure all tasks are complete and the department is running smoothly.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must speak and understand English well enough to interact with service staff. Must have minimum one year similar experience. Must have extensive knowledge of wines, and know fundamentals of beverage mixing, inventory, pars, glass types, uses, and have large drink recipe knowledge. Must be familiar with Micros computer system. Must be familiar with California liquor laws. Hotel experience preferred.  A valid food handlers card must be timely obtained upon hire and maintained in good standing, which time and expense may be compensable. A valid California Responsible Beverage Service certification is required.

Courteous, friendly, and professional manner. Good team player. Customer service focus. Able to work productively with little supervision. Trustworthy and reliable. 

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: Stands and walks short distances throughout shift. Bends, stoops, reaches, pushes, and lifts to perform routine tasks. Frequently required to handle and move objects weighing up to 40 lbs. over short distances. Guest facing position that may handle conflict and/or encounter individuals who may be upset and emotional at times.

TRAVEL: This position is not expected to travel for work. 

REMOTE WORK: This position is not eligible to work remotely. The candidate must be able to work in-person during normal business hours.
