ESSENTIAL PURPOSE: To actively manage Splashes front of house staff and efficient operations, primarily of Splashes Bar (and Service Bar) as well as Splashes Restaurant (jointly called “Splashes”). To ensure the cleanliness, safety, and aesthetic appeal of Splashes, and the optimal dining experience of all guests.

The expected base wage range for this position is: $73,700 - $81,500 per year. This position may be eligible for additional compensation according to the Company's policies, as they may be amended from time to time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, include but not limited to: 

    • To participate in setting and maintaining the highest standards for employees within their hospitality, service levels, knowledge of beverage and cuisine, as well as ambiance.
    • To develop and implement beverage menus: i.e. curating a list of premium beverages and crafting innovative cocktails to meet guest preferences and ensure that all menus are timely and accurately updated as needed.
    • To demonstrate engaging mindset in search of operational and organizational efficiency, and department productivity. 
    • To interview, hire, and continually train, schedule, support, develop, review, and appropriately discipline, and terminate employees directly accountable to his/her position. To appropriately and timely exercise accountability in collaboration with HR.
    • To maintain highest possible levels of employee morale.
    • To ensure compliance with all relevant applicable laws and regulations regarding the service of alcoholic beverages.
    • To participate weekly in Splashes Bar and Restaurant Manager floor shifts. To continuously interact with guests to ensure professional, personalized service throughout their meal and to personally enhance experience by offering recommendations (e.g., using skills like bartender, etc.) in bar and restaurant. To understand, balance and appropriately prioritize own operational involvement vs. administrative work.
    • To assist in establishing and maintaining bar and restaurant policies and procedures, including service style, steps of service, and company culture of hospitality to ensure professional standards of bar and restaurant operation.
    • To control beverage inventory, variety, and cost to maintain adequate supply, quality, and profitability.
    • To set and maintain daily bars pars, requisitions and all relevant preparation, including collaboration with kitchen and purchasing departments; as well as to monitor and maintain equipment and operational inventory needs (i.e. glassware)
    • To implement and enforce bars safety and sanitation procedures, as well as organization and cleanliness to guarantee the well-being of guests and staff.
    • To follow industry trends, seeking opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation; to collaborate with marketing department.
    • To collaborate with Sales team, in offering and executing Splashes Bar buyouts (PDR).
    • To create and post schedules for Splashes bar employees on a weekly basis.
    • To monitor labor costs and overtime to ensure payroll costs stay within budgetary guidelines; to ensure timely compliance and communication with HR-related topics.
    • To satisfactorily complete daily paperwork, as required, including reports.
    • To monitor the “Secret Shop” scores and to take appropriate action, as needed (i.e., operational adjustments, additional service training, staff recognition, or disciplinary action, if warranted).
    • To continuously communicate with fellow managers, including Chefs to ensure efficient and professional service in the bar and restaurant.
    • To assist in planning and overseeing festivities for special holidays.
    • To offer support to other Resort bars as requested.
    • To inform Splashes staff of various hotel functions, to enable them to provide personalized service to restaurant guests.
    • To assist in continuously monitoring and controlling departmental expenditures to ensure meeting operational standards while maintaining annual budget.
    • To follow all specified procedures to correctly handle all cash, credit, and gift certificate transactions.
    • To properly use all relevant computer systems (i.e. Micros Simphony, OpenTable, OnTrack, Kronos).
    • To report and coordinate all needed equipment repairs and general restaurant maintenance.
    • To attend hotel functions, as directed.
    • To ensure safe work practices of all Splashes staff, including compliance with company and departmental safety rules and regulations and the proper use and handling of all relevant equipment and machinery.
    • To conduct departmental safety training for all new Splashes employees, before they begin to work.
    • To conduct regular departmental operations meetings, including monthly safety meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent required. Excellent use of the English language. Must have minimum two years of experience in similar position in an establishment of comparable quality. Must have thorough knowledge of all aspects of restaurant and bar operations and budgets, and have overall knowledge of food and beverage, and service standards and procedures. Familiar with Micros computer systems. Familiar with OSHA, SB198, local Department of Health regulations, California liquor laws, and relevant current laws governing handling of hazardous substances. A valid food handlers card must be timely obtained upon hire and maintained in good standing, which time and expense may be compensable. A valid California Responsible Beverage Service certification is required. Current CPR certification preferred. Hotel experience preferred.

SKILLS AND APTITUDES: Demonstrated ability to train staff and ensure luxury resort customer service. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Detail oriented. Organized and efficient. Safety-minded. High quality standards for production and service. Diplomatic and calm. Good team player. Customer service focus.

PHYSICAL / MENTAL DEMANDS: Stands/walks approximately 80% of shift. Sits at desk approximately 20% of shift. Occasionally required to handle and move objects weighing up to 30 lbs. over short distances. Must be able to work well under pressure. Flexibility required to work long, sometimes irregular hours. Frequent use of stairs, daily. Fast-paced work environment. Guest facing position that may handle conflict and/or encounter individuals who may be upset and emotional at times.

TRAVEL: This position is not expected to travel for work.

REMOTE WORK: This position is not eligible to work remotely. The candidate must be able to work in-person during normal business hours.
