The Bartender is responsible to be an enthusiastic, engaging culinary guide who interacts with Hotel Burbank guests, ensuring that they have a vibrant, enjoyable dining experience. As a truly multi-talented hospitality artist, they’ll welcome restaurant-goers, take and serve orders, process purchases at the cashier, tend bar, make coffee, and more. This position is an ideal fit for a friendly, colorful, and efficient personality—a person who is passionate about excellent service and sharing the excitement of new food and beverage offerings with locals and visitors alike. Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Practice OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards and comply with all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Providing genuine, warm service to all our guests throughout their dining experience, from greeting patrons and serving tables to suggesting dishes, drinks, and new menu items. Promotes and documents orders for drinks. Mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control. 
  • Inputs orders into a register at the point of sale and creates a check for each guest, including those served by other beverage servers, to maintain accountability of all beverages served. 
  • Staying knowledgeable about our current menu choices, as well as any specialties or deviations. 
  • Being a preparation pro to set and clean tables, refill condiments, and assist with any other requests. 
  • Sharing food preparation details and clearly communicating any special guest requests to the kitchen. 
  • Tending the hotel bar, serving cocktails, and providing drink pairing recommendations 
  • Working as a barista to prepare coffee and tea. 
  • Acting as a cashier to process purchases and provide receipts and change. 
  • Cleaning as needed or directed by the supervisor. 
  • Assisting with special events as requested by the supervisor. 
  • Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis. This includes requisitioning and stocking of all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce based on projections from the daily functions sheet Maintain proper FIFO procedures when re-stocking all beer and wines. 
  • Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily to insure product quality. Stock beer and wine coolers. Properly labeling and dating of all perishable items. 
  • Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages. Notify a manager if a guest is becoming intoxicated or rude to other guests. ● Makes any change needed, verifies validity of charges, records charges, and ensures vouchers are properly executed, in order to balance all moneys. 
  • Abide by company closing out procedures when a guest uses their room charge to close out their check. 
  • Locks and stores all beverages, food and other equipment items. 
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis including all major holidays and weekends. ● Fill and clean ice bins. ● Clean shelving, stainless steel, mixers, cups, blenders and soda guns nightly 
  • Follow uniform and grooming specifications according to the brand and Oh So Original, Inc. policies and standards. 
  • Serve food if requested. 
  • Operate bar equipment. 
  • Unpack deliveries and stock bar. Change beer kegs. 
  • Perform any other job related duties as assigned 
Basic Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • Experience serving and hosting in a restaurant setting 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Fluent in English verbal and written 
  • Flexibility is required. May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays 

Nice to have: 

  • Basic Cooking knowledge 
  • Barista experience 
  • Bilingual (Spanish) 
  • Bartending skills 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to sit, walk, stoop, kneel and crouch for the duration of shift (eight hours) 
  • Ability to lift and/or move and/or push up to 25 pounds without assistance
