  • Job Summary:


    Clean guest rooms and/or suites in a timely and thorough manner to ensure complete guest satisfaction.

    Duties and Responsibilities:
    Practice, train and implement company policies, especially those relating to safe work practices in accordance with OSHA lll(Occupational Health and Safety Administration) standards
    Room Attendant Responsibilities:
    • Clean and service assigned rooms or areas according to established standards and procedures including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, removing the trash, etc. May include cleaning of the kitchen area, room refrigerator, coffee maker, cups, glasses, silverware, etc.
    • Notify supervisor when service is complete so rooms may be sold or occupied
    • Report any room unable to be serviced to supervisor according to established procedures i.e. repairs needed or unsafe conditions
    • Respond to guest complaints, special requests and ensure corrective action is taken to achieve guest satisfaction
    • Monitor and control supplies and amenities, and minimize waste within all areas of housekeeping
    • Report, turn in, and/or log all lost and found items according to established procedures
    • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments
    • Houseperson Responsibilities:
    • Remove all dirty linens from assigned Housekeeper carts and closet to transport to laundry area throughout the day
    • Monitor and control supplies and amenities, and minimize waste within all areas of housekeeping
    • Clean other areas such as public restrooms, fixtures, vending areas, storage areas and other public areas for assigned floors
    • Report to supervisor needed repairs or unsafe conditions
    • May regularly assist with deep cleaning projects and/or meeting setups and takedowns as needed
    • Laundry Attendant Responsibilities:
    • Receive soiled linens by bag, cart or chute from hotel floors and sort all articles by kind, color and degree of soil
    • Inspect all laundry and linens and record/report all damaged or stained items to supervisor and the designated log
    • Operate washers and dryers according to recommended capacity and other manufacturers’ guidelines
    • Ensure necessary chemicals are added in the correct quantities prior to wash cycles
    • Fold clean linens and store as appropriate
    • Operate linen feeder, sheet folder, towel folder and table linen ironing machines
    • Public Area Attendant Responsibilities:
    • Respond to guests’ requests such as delivery of housekeeping supplies (e.g. linens, pillows, blankets, baby cribs, amenities, etc.) in a timely and efficient manner.
    • Maintains all public restrooms and public areas of the hotel in keeping with high standards of quality.
    • Cleans back-of-the-house areas as well as providing items or assistance to the hotel staff (such as checking the status of rooms, vacuuming, etc.)
    • Consistently monitor public areas to ensure a high standard of cleanliness throughout the hotel.
    • May regularly assist with deep cleaning projects
    • May have turndown duties
    • Perform other duties as assigned
    • Minimum Qualifications:
    • Basic written and verbal communication skills
    • May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays
    • Preferred Qualifications:
    • High School Diploma
    • Some housekeeping experience in a hotel environment
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
    • Physical Requirements:
    • Frequently handling objects and equipment to maintain the facility
    • Frequently working in areas of high temperatures around heavy equipment
    • Frequently standing up and moving about the facility
    • Frequently bending, stooping, and kneeling,
    • Ability to carry, push, move and lift large, bulky and/or heavy objects up to 50 pounds and pulling up to 20 pounds
    • Ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, walking, repetitive bending, and other physical activities
