Practice Hospitality is seeking an experienced and hands-on Room Inspector to join the team at the Mining Exchange Hotel & Spa.

About The Hotel

Mining Exchange Hotel & Spa was built in 1902 as a stock exchange for local mining companies, The Mining Exchange Hotel & Spa offers a one-of-a-kind experience in the heart of downtown Colorado Springs. Our elegant, yet casual public spaces, and guestrooms are all newly renovated.

Job Role

Assist the Executive Housekeeper in ensuring high levels of guest service and satisfaction by inspecting rooms once cleaned by Room Attendants.

Responsibilities:

• Assists with training new Room Attendants.
• Inspects rooms, closets, and hallways daily and records the condition of these rooms to ensure established company cleanliness and maintenance standards.
• Compiles maintenance deficiency reports received from the room attendants and prepared maintenance work orders.
• Ensures compliance with the hotel energy conservation program by checking heating and cooling units for proper settings.
• Assumes role of Room Attendant when not inspecting rooms.
• Regular and punctual in attendance.
• May be requested to perform other duties as assigned by hotel management.
• Maintains a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor always.

Requirements

• Some High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• 1-2 years housekeeping experience in hotel preferred. 
• Read, write and speak English fluently. Knowledge of other languages, especially Spanish is a plus.
• Knowledge of inventories, scheduling and productivity.
• Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other team members verbally and in written form.
• Ability to inspect 25 to 80 rooms per day.
• Ability to clean rooms, when needed.
• Physically able to move and / or operate large objects, such as: maid’s carts, suite furniture, large bags of linen, vacuum cleaners and boxes of inventory.
• Ability to follow and enforce all hotel standards, including safety procedures/standards and able to recognize and act in emergency situations.
• Reports hazardous conditions in work area or equipment to supervisor
• Knowledge of and ability to operate computer.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Willingness to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and/or Holidays as needed
• Successful completion of criminal background

• Able to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Able to push/pull up to 100 lbs.
•  Able to bend, stretch, and twist
• Able to stand for long periods of time
• Able to work with chemicals according to directions

Job Type: FLSA Designation: Full Time-Non-Exempt

Compensation: $18.00 per hour
