Hourly Pay Range: $34.64 - $38.49

Shift: Varies (5:30am - 1:30pm). Must have availability to work weekdays, weekends and holidays.

Classification: Full Time

Experience: 5 years' experience working in combination with: PLC (Program Logic Control) systems, Air conditioning systems, possess a Universal HVAC license, Associate Degree in Automotive Technology and working with APM (Automated People Movers) systems. 

License: Valid Driver’s License required.

What will I be doing?

A Maintenance I Lead, Boat/Tram Mechanic is responsible for supervising, maintaining and repairing Tram, and Tramway, Vehicles, Electric cart, Gas/Electric boats equipment and systems throughout the facility to ensure safe and proper operation. Performs repair and maintenance tasks in support of quality standards encompassing a variety of skills of different trades, including, but not limited to: air conditioning, electronics, Pneumatic, electrical and mechanical work resulting in guest satisfaction in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Visually inspect, operate, maintain and repair all Tram and Tramway equipment throughout the facility. Work in confined spaces and awkward positions, requiring crouching, kneeling, stooping and reaching overhead for extended periods of time is required.  Interact with the Tram Drivers and assist in start-up, shut down and operation of all Tram equipment.       
  • Perform scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance.  Repair, maintain and troubleshoot Air conditioning systems, Electric drive systems, Tram and Tram way control and signaling equipment in accordance with wiring diagrams, schematics, operations manuals and manufacturers’ maintenance instructions, using test equipment such as volt meter, arm probe and hand and power tools. 
  • Forecast manpower and/or supply needs, requesting necessary supplies/services from manager through written and/or verbal communication.  Following completion of shift, complete shift log, describe work assigned and completed, logging unfinished job following established procedures.    
  • Train Maintenance and Drivers staff in necessary skills and procedures to maintain Tram and Tramway equipment to the hotel’s high standards of quality.
  • Delegate assignments and coordinate work orders through written and/or verbal communication to ensure assignments are properly and promptly completed.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

  • The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Considerable knowledge of electrical systems and components to maintain and repair electrical equipment.
  • Considerable knowledge of Air conditioning system and components to maintain and repair.
  • Considerable knowledge of vehicle suspension systems and components to maintain and repair.
  • Extensive knowledge of safe working practices in regards to wire sizes, fuse sizes and overloading of electrical circuits. 
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations.
  • Skill in electrical aptitude, Trade Mathematics and Trade Communications.
  • Skill in use of related instruments and tools, including volt-OHM meter, arm probe, electric hoist, hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to operate a forklift, zodiac boat, electric cart, electric lift and pick-up truck.
  • Basic English language communication skills in order to complete logs, read blueprints and mechanical drawings, communicate with co-workers and fully comprehend job assignments.
  • Basic trade mathematical skills in order to calculate quantities of materials, areas covered, layout plans and prepare moderately complex mathematical calculations using a calculator.
  • Ability to climb ladders, occasionally working at heights above 30 feet.
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information, and solve customer concerns.
  • Ability to work in unfavorable conditions, which can occasionally be hot, noisy and wet.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and in awkward positions.
