Position Overview:The Chief Engineer will oversee the maintenance and repair of all hotel systems and equipment. This role requires a hands-on approach, strong leadership skills, and a proactive attitude to ensure the hotel operates smoothly and efficiently. The Chief Engineer will work closely with other departments to address maintenance needs and uphold the hotel's commitment to guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintenance Oversight: Supervise and participate in the maintenance and repair of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
• Team Management: Lead, train, and schedule engineering staff to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations.
• Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend the life of equipment.
• Emergency Response: Respond to urgent repair needs and emergencies, ensuring minimal disruption to guest services.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations, codes, and standards, including environmental and energy management practices.
• Budget Management: Assist in managing the engineering budget, including forecasting, ordering supplies, and tracking expenses.
• Coordination: Work with other hotel departments to address maintenance requests and resolve issues promptly.
• Inspection: Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities and systems to identify and address potential issues.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a maintenance or engineering role, with at least 2 years in a supervisory position, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
• Skills: Strong technical knowledge of building systems and equipment; excellent leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to troubleshoot and solve complex issues.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications in HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, or other trades are a plus.
• Other: Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
