Compensation: Starting salary $80,000, Full-Time

Summary of Position:

The Senior Catering Sales Manager is responsible for the acquisition of all social (weddings, holiday parties, receptions and such) business at La Playa Hotel and Hotel Carmel under Marc & Rose Hospitality.  Specific market emphasis and/or territory assignment will be determined based on industry experience.  This position is based out Carmel, CA.

Essential Functions:

Meet or exceed your revenue goals as specified in the group sales goal & incentive document.

Solicit potential prospects daily and follow all strategies given by DOS, VP and/or EVP.

Use and exhibit proficiency with sales management documents, tools, & systems.

Determine quality of business: prospect, qualified prospect, best potential.

Follow through on all leads within 24 hours of receiving.

Meet and conduct all site inspections on property per the SOP given.

Update accounts and most current lead source.

Always maintain continuous communication between all internal departments and the customer.

Keep all detailed notes within Salesforce and execute written agreements with all vendors and customers.

Business travel to domestic destinations may be required.

Prospects and qualifies new group clientele from all available resources.

Ability to perform all essential functions within two weeks of employment.

Other tasks as assigned by the General Manager, Director of Sales, VP of Sales and Event Management or the Executive Vice President.

Based on hotels volume, Managers could be asked to detail some events to assist Sales & Event Management.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma is required, college degree is preferred.

Experience: 2 - 4 years of hotel group sales experience is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time

Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Salesforce, and Windows operating system

Skilled in sales presentations and utilizing digital sales tools and Presentations, other collateral

Ability to manage details effectively

Ability to negotiate effectively

Skilled at verbal and written communication

Ability to maintain a professional image in tough situations

Ability to learn and demonstrate the Resort’s service standards, AAA Diamond standards, and mystery shopper standards
