Description

Essential Functions
  • Ensures proper serving of alcohol to include proper carding, no over pouring, and cutting off patrons.
  • Maintains accurate knowledge of ABCC rules and regulations.
  • Maintains adequate coverage for optimum service as well as the avoidance of unnecessary overtime.
  • Inspects all bars daily for cleanliness and proper stocking of supplies.
  • Responsible for listening to, evaluating and assuring resolution of customer complaints.
  • Monitors, establishes and maintains liquor par stocks by outlet and oversees monthly inventory counts as well as random spot check inventories.
  • Maximizes cost effectiveness within the department, by ensuring compliance with established

    budget, labor and revenue benchmarks.

  • Coordinates required beverage services for all outlets to keep inventory within established guidelines.
  • Coordinates monthly wine training and keeps current with trends in the wine industry.
  • Holds weekly meetings with beverage supervisors to ensure timely exchange of information and also holds regular meetings with all beverage employees recording accurate but brief minutes.
  • Confers with the Director of Food and Beverage on a timely basis of any undue variance from the norm.
  • Responsible for the supervision and evaluation of department staff, including completion and timely submission of annual employee evaluations.
  • Responsible for complying with all food and beverage health, liquor and safety regulations, as well

    as all federal, state and local applicable laws.

  • Exercises considerable judgement in determining priorities, managing projects and assignments, delegating work, and overall accomplishment of goals and tasks.
  • Manages departmental budget, maximizing revenue and controlling expenses as appropriate
  • Manages payroll and labor costs
  • Maintains relevant records and oversees the maintenance of records as appropriate for the department
  • Develops and implements strategic goals, objectives and business plans for the department
  • Ensures compliance with relevant laws and regulations as well as company policies and procedures
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of industry and competition.
  • Ensures effective communication within the department and company.
  • Holds subordinates accountable for established performance expectations.
  • Motivates staff; provides advice and guidance as appropriate.
  • Interviews, selects, hires and retains superior employees
  • Coaches, and counsels subordinate employees
  • Oversees and ensures the timely completion of employee evaluations
  • Conducts training with subordinates, both formally and informally
  • Issues discipline and terminates employees as appropriate
  • Rewards and recognizes superior performers
  • Oversees and ensures that employees work safely and follow all safety rules
Additional Function
  • May be required to participate in daily service operation as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • May be required to oversee other Food and Beverage venues as needed.
Requirements/Education
  • Must possess 3 – 5 years of management experience, preferably in Food and Beverage operations, with volume yielding $2 million per year. Casino experience preferred.
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience required, college preferred
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office software.
  • Must possess superior customer service and leadership skills
  • Must possess superior written and oral communication skills
  • Must be able to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations
  • Must present an overall professional appearance
  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays and nights as scheduled
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background check and receive a license from the DE Lottery.
  • Must be ABC certified before starting work
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English.
