Hilton Waikiki Beach is looking for a Human Resources Manager to help us manage what matters most … our people. If you have a well-rounded HR generalist background with an emphasis in Compliance and Benefits we would love to have an opportunity to get to know you.

The on-site HR Manager will provide services and programs that enhance the performance capability of our team members and enable achievement of key business results by managing the Human Resources function. Completes human resources functions in a timely and accurate fashion, to include: recruiting, hiring and terminating employees, training, payroll, worker’s compensation, benefit administration, employee relations, safety program, recordkeeping, and other administrative duties.

Job Duties:

  • Completes the following HR functions in a timely and accurate fashion: recruiting, hiring and terminating employees, training, payroll, worker’s compensation, leave administration, benefit administration, employee relations, safety program, recordkeeping, and other administrative duties
  • Assists in managing the programs and processes associated with the implementation and administration of an Affirmative Action Plan to include strategies and tasks to attract, hire, promote and retain a diverse workforce.
  • This also includes oversight of the documentation, analysis, reporting and related tasks to ensure ongoing compliance with EEO regulations and ACA requirements at the federal, state and local levels.
  • Oversees the training of all designated management and supervisory staff on all related AAP, EEO and ACA compliance and audit matters.
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships with all levels of employees
  • Works with managers to identify position requirements
  • Oversees administration of HR/Benefits issues and ensures adherence to employment related laws
  • Recruits candidates that demonstrate a good fit with the Hilton Culture and fills positions with qualified candidates on a timely basis
  • Assists in diffusing employee issues/complaints in a timely manner and in conjunction with the HR Director
  • Maintains records in accordance with the law
  • Provides payroll with the required information to process paychecks
  • Coordinates participation by employees in the benefit plan; seeks opportunities to market existing benefits and supplement with locally provided benefits as appropriate
  • Coordinates the hotel’s response to legal claims regarding the employment relationships; coordinates with corporate as appropriate
  • Supports on-going training in “Can Do Attitude” by working with managers to develop and implement fresh approaches
  • Ensures that key education and training courses are delivered at the hotel in accordance with Hilton’s standards
  • Ensures that employees receive the reinforcement of training needed to understand expectations and job responsibilities
  • Counsels managers and employees on effective ways to communicate and reinforce performance expectations and address and resolve employment related issues
  • Encourages recognition of employee’ contribution by coordinating hotel-wide recognition programs
  • Coaches employees both line level and managers on effective ways to motivate the team and maximize employee engagement
  • Keeps current on applicable laws
  • Assists with the other disciplines of Human Resources to include office management, team member relations, training and development, HRIS management, community and industry relations, and HHC/Stanford brand standards and requirements.
  • Any other duties as assigned by HR Director

Job Requirements:

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in a Human Resources management capacity and preferably within the Hospitality industry.
  • Previous work experience with a fully-integrated HRIS platform to include recruitment, benefits, records management, reporting and analysis, and payroll.
  • Previous work experience with administering and managing programs and processes related to an Affirmative Action Plan and ACA compliance. Knowledge of applicable Federal, State and Local labor laws.
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree preferred in a related field of study, or comparable HR experience, or HR certification.
  • Hotel brand experience highly desired.
  • Relevant military experience in a comparable capacity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.

Qualifications

Human Resources experience in a management capacity and preferably within the Hospitality industry or relevant military experience in a comparable capacity.
