Maintenance Tech

Job Summary

Assist with maintaining the interior and exterior of the hotel by performing routine and preventative maintenance, which includes but not limited to guest rooms, public space, equipment, furnishings, and fixtures to ensure safe operations and quality standards are achieved and maintained. 

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance assignments to guest rooms, etc.
• Complete work orders in a timely and efficient manner.
• Respond to all maintenance calls and communicate with hotel departments to ensure timely response and completion of maintenance needs.
• Perform minor plumbing functions such as leaks, clogs, etc.
• Install and repair wall boards and other wall coverings.
• Paint designated areas and items as needed.
• Repair and/or replace heating and cooling units.
• Perform repairs to furniture and equipment.
• Perform minor tub caulking and tile repairs.
• Install and replace basic electrical fixtures, light switches, receptacles, and light bulbs.
• Perform duties of grounds keeper and assist with salting, snow, and ice removal.
• Conduct walk-thru inspections to identify and report repair needs and safety hazards.
• Maintain repair and preventative maintenance records.
• Respond to guest questions, complaints and/or requests in a courteous manner to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Maintain all compliance standards and regulations to encourage safe work habits.

Skills

• Ability to perform heavy work exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently and/or in excess of 20 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
• Ability to climb a ladder.
• Ability to stand, walk and bend for extended periods of time.
• Ability to use heavy duty tools and equipment proficiently.
• Occasionally perform work outdoors for extended periods of time, which involves exposure to hot and cold temperatures.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible shifts to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, trade school or its equivalent.
• At least two years building maintenance.
• Previous hotel experience a plus.
• Specialty in a specific building trade a plus.
