Under the direction of the Manager, Product & Design, the UX/UI Designer II is responsible for having a solid understanding of the best practices used for the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) of software solutions and their application to custom developed solutions. This position works with various team members within the Product Development team and various enterprise stakeholder groups to define best in class UX models for multiple unique custom solutions. The UX/UI Designer II is also responsible for a products useful lifecycle to ensure that it is enhanced with the latest approaches to design, and user experience practices that align with our diverse user base across the custom solutions we offer to the enterprise.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Produces product designs and user experience vision for in-house custom development projects by working closely with Product Management, Software Engineering, enterprise stakeholders and the intended users of the solution.  

2. Creates interaction models, wireframes, prototypes for proposed software solutions or feature enhancements across mobile and web client solutions for multiple product development initiatives.  

3. Effectively articulates user experience designs to internal that justify design elements.   

4. Participates in backlog grooming with the Development Studio and Product Management teams to ensure design and user experience requirements are fully understood.  Ensures development meets the various UI and UX elements.     

5. Provides clarification to development studios during sprints, as required.  Maintains expert level knowledge of solution designs throughout the development effort of a release. 

6. Responsible for maintaining up to date knowledge of design and user experience best practices.  

7. Participate in focus groups with stakeholders and customers. 

8. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department. 

Education/Experience/Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Software Design or a related field is required.  

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in software design experience is required.  

  • Minimum of One (1) year of either Mobile Application, Web Interface, or Customer Relationship Management Dashboard designs is preferred. 

  • Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above. Must be able to work flexible schedules as needed to support offshore development studios.  

  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills are required.  

  • Experience with deconstructing complex requirements into multiple easily understood requirements.     

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations

  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
