The Overnight Manager promotes a safe and secure environment on the overnight shift. Oversee all hotel operations during the night shift to ensure standards are maintained and that hotel assets are secured and protected. Act in the capacity of General Manager in his or her absence.
Essential Functions:
Assists with guest issues as needed. With no supervision, understand guest issues and develop and implement solutions agreeable to the guest to maintain high service standards.
Ensure the policy is followed regarding securing money, cash drawers, etc. Take action regarding violations to include immediate suspension pending investigation.
Provide direct oversight of all departments with specific oversight of Security and Engineering. Take action regarding disciplinary issues requiring immediate attention.
Assist with Front Office and Night Audit operations, as well as any department in need.
Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
Handles guest noise complaints
Assist Security by checking doors and service outlets to ensure they are secure.
Protects the organization’s image by keeping security and incident information confidential.
Education and Experience:
Excellent people management skills, including resolving conflict, coaching and developing others, promoting teamwork, and performance management
Takes an exhaustive approach to every task
Capable of conducting a detailed investigation and producing detailed, comprehensive documentation regarding the same, with no supervision
Remains composed and behaves professionally during emotionally charged and potentially dangerous situations
Previous Hotel Management experience is required
Schedule flexibility and the ability to work the night shift are required
Fire Life Safety Director Certification is preferred but not required
The anticipated compensation range for the position for applicants working in NYC is $65,000K annually. The annual salary offered to a successful candidate will depend on several factors, including but not limited to years of experience within the job, years of experience within the required industry, education, etc.
