Compensation: $15.00, Full-Time

Job Description

Job Summary: Will be responsible for preparing and serving coffee and other beverages to customers in Benne’s. The Barista will also help take orders, make drinks and provide timely service to customers.

On a average you can earn $4.00-$7.00 in tips hourly

Job Duties

  • Greeting customers in a friendly manner and taking food and drink orders.
  • Preparing and serving beverages, ranging from simple to elaborate ones.
  • Preparing and serving food items such as soups, sandwiches, and pastries.
  • Answering customer’s questions about menu choices.
  • Promoting and recommending menu options to customers.
  • Taking payment from customers.
  • Maintaining inventory and equipment by cleaning, troubleshooting, and informing management.
  • Keeping work environment sanitary and organized.
  • Practice basic safety procedures with respect to equipment and handling hot beverages.
  • Always provides a professional image through appearance and dress.
  • Follows company policies and procedures.

Education and Experience

  • Previous related experience preferred but not required 
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Detail oriented 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to work in a team
  • Able to work in a fast paced, stressful environment
  • Able to focus on customer satisfaction and build good relationships with customers
  • Able to have a great memory to complete specific recipes without error.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk about for entire shift, bend, stoop, twist, reach, use fingers, kneel, talk, hear, grasp and perform repetitive motions 
  • Ability push, pull, lift, carry or otherwise move up to 50 lbs.
