The Dish Steward is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dishwashing area. The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment and be able to work efficiently and effectively under pressure.
Responsibilities
- Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans, using dishwashers or by hand.
- Place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage areas.
- Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition.
- Clean food preparation areas, facilities, or equipment.
- Sweep or scrub floors.
- Stock supplies, such as food or utensils, in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, or salad bars.
- Assist cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a kitchen or dishwashing role preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.
