General Summary of Job Duties

At Hyatt Place Fort Worth in partnership with Silverton Casino, LLC, we believe our guests select Hyatt Place because of our caring and attentive team members who are focused on providing efficient service and meaningful experiences. The Laundry Attendant processes soiled linen and terry on a daily basis, maintaining the laundry in a clean and orderly manner. The hotel business functions seven days a week, 24 hours a day. In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must be maintained at all times. Principle Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide the highest quality of service to the guest at all times and anticipate and exceed guest expectations.
  • Maintain and operate all laundry equipment in accordance with established procedures. Report any equipment malfunction to maintenance immediately and complete a work order.
  • Separate and wash terry separate from linen. Always use gloves when sorting. Always shake out linen and terry when sorting and look for anything that may cause injury (needles, etc.)
  • Ensure that all linen and terry is free of stains and tears prior to washing.
  • Pre-spot stained linen and terry before rewashing.
  • Load and unload washers and dryers being careful not to overload either machine.
  • Fold linen in accordance with established procedures.
  • Fold and stack clean towels, removing any stained or torn linen/terry and place in appropriate storage location.
  • Use folding machine following the safety guidelines.
  • Complete daily production sheets.
  • Clean dryer lint screens EVERY load.
  • Adhere to established productivity standards.
  • Clean exterior of all machines in the laundry room daily.
  • Check/refill washer chemicals as needed.
  • Sweep and mop laundry floor daily. Use wet floor signs as required.
  • Deep clean the entire laundry area once per week.
  • Deliver extra terry to the Front Desk each evening if needed.
  • Stock, clean and maintain laundry carts, storage areas and laundry racks.
  • Practice safety standards at all times and keep the property safe for guests and fellow team members. Know location and use of fire extinguishers. Use wet floor signs.
  • Follow proper use of approved chemicals and accurately label chemical containers. Use gloves and goggles when handling chemicals. Complete Chemical Training and Blood Borne Pathogen Training.
  • Assist with or perform linen inventory as required.
  • Ensure security and confidentiality of all guest and hotel information and material.
  • Practice energy conservation at all times.
  • Notify manager/Maintenance Department of maintenance issues. Complete work orders as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area in accordance with hotel standards. Complete daily/weekly cleaning schedule.
  • Attend work on time as scheduled and adhere to attendance policy.
  • Report unsafe conditions and suspicious activity to Security/Management.
  • Lift, carry or otherwise move up to 25 lbs. regularly.
  • Lift, carry or otherwise move up to 50 lbs. occasionally with assistance. Regularly required to stand; walk; reach; use hands to handle or feel; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear.
  • Clean guestrooms during peak periods, if necessary, while maintaining productivity standards.
  • Wear uniform, including name tag at all times.
  • Communicate properly and effectively with the guest, team members and managers. Effectively respond to guest complaints.
  • Promote positive teamwork and morale.
  • Maintain knowledge of hotel property, hotel staff, hotel services, hotel service hours of operation and hotel surroundings (i.e. mall, restaurants).
  • Adhere to all work rules, procedures and policies established by the company. Have a thorough knowledge of emergency procedures.
  • To be flexible in your job function and perform any other reasonable duties and responsibilities which may be assigned to you, including redeployment to other departments/areas if required, in order to meet business demands and guest service needs.
  • Treat all operating equipment and supplies carefully to minimize damage and reduce waste.
  • To deliver the brand promise and provide exceptional, friendly, courteous and professional guest service at all times.
  • To read the Team Member Handbook and have an understanding of and adhere to the hotel’s rules and regulations and in particular, the policies and procedures relating to Fire, Hygiene, Health, and Safety.
  • To comply with local legislation as required.
