About this Employer

A Community of Friends

Ahoy! Half Moon Bay Yacht Club is a non-profit, volunteer-oriented yacht club in Princeton-By-the-Sea, Half Moon Bay, on the coast about 25 miles south of San Francisco. We take pride in our beautiful location on a protected harbor, cozy clubhouse, expansive Event Center, sandy beach, and our club-owned fleets of sailboats, skiffs, kayaks, and paddlecraft. Our club is known for its can-do attitude, with volunteer members who maintain our fleets of boats, hold regattas, and host many fun social events throughout the year. Our club is a down-to-earth place where boating and friendly conversation are equally valued.

About Us

The Half Moon Bay Yacht Club is a 501(c)(7) non-profit organization that is managed and operated through its Board of Directors, employees, and staff volunteers. Everyone involved in Club operations strives to make the experience truly great for all members. There are many ways for members to enjoy the Half Moon Bay Yacht Club.

Recreational Sailing

Go for a sail inside Pillar Point Harbor; after all, we are a yacht club!  Our Club offers a very rare benefit to members: we own fleets of Cal 20’s, C-15s, Lasers, Flying Juniors, and Optimists for our members to use, at no additional cost.  We are not sure all people would consider the Club’s boats "yachts" in the traditional sense of the word, but to the Club members they are a wonderful way to spend time on the water and to learn to sail. With programs such as Wednesday night sailing, Friday beer can racing, and Sunday sailing, members can practice sailing or just go out for the fun of it. Our extensive Women Sailing program is specifically designed to get women out on the water, with women skippers and women instructors.
