Job Summary:

Perform any combination of light cleaning duties to maintain the hotel and restaurant in a clean and orderly manner. Stock and set up breakfast items in lobby area of the hotel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Greet all guests in breakfast room area.
  • Check if customer is a hotel guest or non-hotel guest.
  • Answer questions about buffet items, breakfast hours, etc.
  • Check patrons' identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages
  • Check with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems
  • Prepare checks with total meal costs and sales taxes for non-hotel guest.
  • Collect payments from non-hotel guests
  • Clean service work areas and tables
  • Complete paperwork and make payment drop into cash drawer
  • Keep breakfast area well-stock, clean and organize
  • Clear tables when necessary
  • Empty trash and waste to disposal areas when needed
  • Maintain cleanliness of appliances and equipment
  • Sweep or wash floors, using brooms or mops as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education/Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Food Handler’s Certificate Required

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Other

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early shifts, weekends and holidays.
