As a Health and Safety Intern, you will be responsible for supporting and enhancing our safety programs, ensuring the safety and well-being of our team members and guests in Americas first national park. What will you do?

  • Evaluate and implement safety programs, recommending updates and improvements to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
  • Review and refine safety policies and procedures, including emergency response and hazard communication, to address deficiencies
  • Conduct and document workplace, property, and equipment safety inspections, proposing corrective actions as needed
  • Lead safety training for team members during on-boardingand throughout the season, ensuring ongoing safety awareness
  • Perform hazard identification analyses, develop job hazard checklists, and investigate incidents to identify root causes and recommend preventive measures
  • Driving company vehicles as needed

More about you

  • Must be enrolled in a safety program or related and have completed sophomore year of college or higher
  • Strong self-motivation, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat; Photo-shopand Illustrator skills are a plus
  • Valid drivers license required

Physical requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Constant standing, lifting, climbing stairs, and repetitive motions

Yellowstone General Stores are located throughout Yellowstone National Park including near Old Faithful, Mammoth Hot Springs, and Canyon Village. The locations offer the opportunity to explore the more than 1000 miles of hiking trails, 40 waterfalls, and 10,000 hydro-thermal features like hot springs and geysers. We offer dorm-style employee housing or full-hookup RV sites. We also offer an employee meal program, store discounts, and recreational activities in Yellowstone National Park for our associates.
