About The Opportunity

Practice Hospitality is seeking an experienced Restaurant Supervisor for a new restaurant in downtown Colorado Springs. This will be affiliated with the Mining Exchange Hotel but positioned independently as a freestanding restaurant concept.

Mining Exchange Hotel was built in 1902 as a stock exchange for local mining companies, The Mining Exchange Hotel offers a one-of-a-kind experience in the heart of downtown Colorado Springs. Our elegant, yet casual public spaces, and guestrooms are all newly renovated.

Job Role

The Restaurant Supervisor is critical to ensuring exceptional hospitality and is responsible for overseeing restaurant operations and personnel, scheduling employees, and assisting with restaurant operations as needed. The Supervisor coordinates the work of restaurant staff to ensure efficient operations.

Responsibilities

  • Trains, supervises, counsels, and participates in the evaluation of restaurant staff employees for the efficient operation of the restaurant. Directs staff in their work assignments.
  • Responsible for ensuring that restaurant complies with sanitation and safety standards for Guests and employees. Responsible for ensuring that all equipment is in working order. Visually inspects and takes corrective action to ensure that facilities in restaurant look appealing and attractive to guests. Provides guidance for improvement and implements Necessary adjustments. Oversees work orders to ensure repairs and maintenance of facility are completed on a timely basis.
  • Manages and monitors product quality and guest satisfaction in restaurant. Responsible for ensuring that food quality is consistent, appealing, and prepared to guest specifications. Moves throughout facility and kitchen areas to visually monitor and take corrective action to ensure food quality and service standards are met. Verifies temperatures, judges appearance and taste of products, and checks preparation methods to determine quality. Provides guidance for improvement and implements necessary adjustments. Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on quality of service and food in outlet. Investigates and resolves guest complaints in a timely manner.
  • Documents inventory forecast usage and monitors supply so that restaurants are stocked with linen, glassware, silverware, china, condiments and other items necessary to provide appropriate customer service. Oversees set up of dining and service areas.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures that relate to the restaurant as well as all local, state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Ensures operational execution by communicating expectations to Lead Servers and restaurant staff to ensure restaurant operations are efficient and meet all set standards
  • Provides administrative support for front of house operations including; scheduling, payroll, reservations, inventory, receiving, and personnel related matters
  • Interacts with guests and team members, provides feedback to staff throughout their shift to ensure quality service; works with management to investigate and resolve guest concerns
  • Assists with the overall operation of the restaurant(s) including; Point of Sale transactions, expediting, re-stocking, quality, and staff breaks and performance
  • Ensures that restaurants are sanitized, cleaned, stocked, and setup correctly for opening and that they remain that way through the shift
  • Support management in staff performance related matters including; employee reviews, corrective action, investigations, conflict resolution, etc
  • Protects establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies
  • Assists with the coordination and execution of holidays events and promotions

 Requirements

  • High School education or equivalent
  • 2+ year previous experience in a food service team lead capacity or leadership role
  • 2 + year utilizing Point-of-Sale (POS) technology
  • Serve-Safe and/or TIPS certification
  • Thorough knowledge of restaurant operations and preparation techniques.
  • Knowledge of beverage operations and wines.
  • Strong mathematical abilities in order to determine and track inventory, controls, revenue productions, and other hotel financial statements.
  • Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, with guests and employees, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger and to collect accurate information and to resolve problems.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods.
