Surveillance Manager

Under the directions of the Director of Surveillance, the Surveillance Manager assists the Director concerning the Surveillance Room and Floor Surveillance activities. Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Surveillance Department. Protects Company Assets by observing gaming and non-gaming activities to ensure safety, integrity, security, and Casino policies and procedures are followed. Ensures compliance with Pueblo of Tesuque Gaming Commission, Departmental and Casino Regulations.

Note: Native American preference will be given.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Maintain clandestine surveillance operations of all gaming operations, and cash-handling areas.
• Carry out procedures, train, schedule and evaluate personnel in keeping with company objectives, specifically, supervise and coordinate activities related to the surveillance of gaming machines, Cage cashier windows, including the audio/visual recording of Count Room operations.  
• Review all daily activity reports and gives direction for the protection of assets in every way imaginable and possible.
• Participate in the employee selection process, interviewing and recommending that candidates are hired.
• Assign work and responsibilities, directing employees, scheduling and training to ensure that the Surveillance Team operates at maximum efficiency.
• Discipline employees and issue corrective actions up to termination.
• Plan and implement systems to ensure compliance with federal, state and Casino rules and regulations.
• Formulate, implement and educate on Casino policies and procedures.
• Attend periodic meetings and training sessions.
• Work with safety as a priority and follows department and Casino safety standards.
• Maintain relevant knowledge of industry through continuing education and training.
• Performs any other job-related duties as assigned.

Experience and Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two to three years Casino experience is preferred.
• Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance.
• At least two years supervisory position in Casino Surveillance.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Must have working knowledge of all necessary equipment, CCTV, camera, monitors and recording devices.
• Prior Indian Gaming experience in Surveillance for a minimum of two years.

• Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background investigation, and obtain and maintain a gaming license from the Pueblo of Tesuque Gaming Commission.

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

The Surveillance Manager is responsible for overseeing the Surveillance team and Shift Supervisors in the Surveillance department, ensuring alignment with departmental and organizational objectives. The Manager provides guidance and assistance in addressing unusual situations that may arise, particularly those without clear precedents or requiring interpretation of policies and regulations. Will meet with and update the Surveillance Director of the general performance of the department and its employees.

Following initial training, the Surveillance Manager is expected to perform duties independently, demonstrating proficiency and autonomy in task execution. Regular spot checks are conducted to evaluate accuracy, adequacy, timeliness, and compliance with relevant rules, regulations, and policies.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand and walk for extended periods. The employee occasionally is required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee will be required to talk for extended periods and must be able to hear and understand. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to fifty (50) pounds.  The work environment includes a variety of electrical hazards exist around monitors, power supplies, and any other existing surveillance components. The incumbent occasionally exposed to loud noise, change in temperatures, and second-hand smoke.

Work Environment:

Work is generally performed in a casino setting with exposure to second-hand smoke and a high noise level. Due to the nature and scope of this position, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours and irregular shifts will be required.
