The iconic, The Roosevelt New Orleans, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel is currently seeking for a Storeroom Clerk to join our talented team! 

Located on at 130 Roosevelt Way, just a short stroll from the vibrant French Quarter. This historic hotel features 504 elegantly appointed guest rooms and suites, along with over 60,000 square feet of versatile meeting and event space. Guests can enjoy a range of exceptional dining options, including the renowned Domenica restaurant, all while being surrounded by the rich culture and lively atmosphere of New Orleans.

The Storeroom Clerk accepts all purchased products into the hotel, verifying accuracy of delivery to purchase orders. Maintains storeroom in accordance to standards and rotates stock accordingly. Issues and delivers items to departments in accordance with the requisition policies and procedures. Conducts inventories.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Assists the Purchasing Supervisor in the daily operation of the storeroom. Receives and places products in their assigned storeroom location in an organized manner. Checks items received against purchase orders to verify accuracy of the order. Rotates perishable stock so that all food items are fresh.

Issues and delivers products from the Storeroom to Departments. Check each item on the requisitions which may involve weighing, counting, verifying each item and checking them against specifications to verify accuracy and approvals for the order.

Conducts inventories as directed. Ensure all food, beverage and general merchandise items are listed on inventory lists.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.

  • Participate in hotel/department meetings.
  • Perform any general tasks using standard hotel cleaning products to adhere to health standards.
  • Perform other duties as requested by manager or special guest requests.

Requirements

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Must have some knowledge of food, beverage and printing products.
  • Basic mathematical and computer skills to track and receive volumes of deliveries.
  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language fluently in order to complete forms, inventories, read billings, invoices and communicate with co-workers and purveyors.
  • Office machines: operate calculator/10-key, copier, fax, telephone.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS EDUCATION

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

EXPERIENCE

  • Some work experience in related field preferred.
