About this job…

Hotel Accounting Managers are detail-oriented, data- and process-driven, and highly focused on accuracy.  Hotel Accounting Managers ensure proper invoice coding and processing, complete month-end accounting processes and statements, reconcile accounts, complete journal entries and edits, and assist the total hotel accounting process.  Successful candidates will adeptly manage many transactions while maintaining exceptional organization of data.  The key responsibility of a Hotel Accounting Manager is to deliver timely and accurate accounting reports in accordance with company and general accounting practices.

What you’ll be doing…

  • Work with Accounts Payable team to ensure hotel invoices are correctly coded and processed
  • Complete month-end accounting closing process
  • Issue financial statement packages including maintenance of recurring and reversing journal entries, accruals, income journal, reclassification, and other required journal entries
  • Support and engage with hotel teams to identify and resolve accounting challenges, monthly financials, and other research and financial analysis
  • Prepare month end account reconciliation and accounting work reports
  • Assist in computing and filing monthly agency tax returns
  • Manage weekly payables check runs and aging reports
  • Support Accounting Manager in reporting requirements and compiling budget data
  • Update and manage fixed asset detail ledgers and depreciation
  • Assist managing audits by providing audit schedules, data requests, and auditor inquiries
  • Comply with local, state, and federal laws and guidelines and with company policy
  • Always maintain professionalism consistent with company expectations

Success Factors…

Experience & Education: 

  • 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably with hotels or property management
  • 4-year degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent education and experience

Communication:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including electronic communication
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in primary language used in the workplace

Physical:

  • 8+ hours per day sitting at desk/computer
  • Manual dexterity and repetitive motions required throughout workday
