Hotel Laundry / Public Space Attendant

JOB SUMMARY

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for sorting, washing, folding and distributing all linens and towels. Public space attendant is responsible for cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and trash clearing. Public space to include indoor pool, fitness center, lobby, hallways and stairwells, and exterior of hotel. Attendant will also assist other departments with any needs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

* Flexible evening and long hours sometimes required, including weekends and holidays.
* Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
* Ability to stand during entire shift up to 8 hours.

* Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
* Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
* Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
* Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & FUNCTIONS

* Approach all encounters with guests and associates in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
* Maintain regular attendance in compliance with hotel standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the property.
* Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working.
* Comply at all times with hotel standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient resort operations.
* Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
* Associates must at all times be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to guests, managers and fellow associates.
* Understand operation of washing machines, dryers, folding machines, etc.
* Load and unload washes according to standards.
* Wash and dry all linens, towels, rags, inventory needed for resort.
* Sort all hotel linen according to type, color, size, etc.
* Pre-treat all stained linen before washing.
* Clean dryer filter daily and maintain all equipment as trained.
* Maintain clean work area. Sweep and mop laundry floors, storing all linens off the floor and in designated areas on a daily basis.
* Fold towels and linens.
* Load carts with appropriate linen.
* Keep laundry carts clean and free of debris on a daily basis.
* Attend meetings/trainings as required by management.
* Perform other duties and light maintenance tasks as requested from management such as public space cleaning.
