Under the guidance of the Assistant Director, Facilities, the Locksmith performs all locksmith. Responsible for the cylinder hardware for all doors including the keying, maintenance, and repair of lock systems. Serves as a custodian for all regulated and non-regulated keys and assists with the key control program for the department. This position is exposed to sensitive areas containing confidential information related to team members and enterprise-wide data and must use good judgement when performing work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Manages lock system installations as well as preventative maintenance and repairs on new and existing lock systems. This includes both mechanical and electronic key card systems. Installs and repairs door hardware including panic bars, automatic door openers, mortise locks, and hydraulic closing fixtures.2. Maintains key control systems including electronic records of Issued keys, returned keys, re-keys and duplications. Conducts routine inspections of all door lock sets and door hardware throughout the facility and ensure it is operational, and the appearance is up to standards.3. Follows keying protocols while using appropriate discretion and special knowledge of lock systems to preserve the integrity of the facility key system while meeting guest and internal needs.4. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. Documents work performance, material usage, estimated repair time, and status through a work order system.5. Works with various trades, vendors, and contractors in completing projects or tasks. Monitors worked performed by a third party and reports status of said work to management.6. Cleans and maintains work areas, as well as keep inventory and adequate stock of keys, supplies and equipment.7. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
EDUCATIONAL, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED is required.
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience.
Casino or Hospitality experience is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)
Must be able to cut and issue keys, re-key, install and repair locks and hardware.
Ability to interpret, implement, and maintain pre-defined master key systems.
Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.
Must be able to install, troubleshoot, and repair both mechanical locking and electronic access control devices.
Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
Advanced proficiency in utilizing building security and lock systems and procedures.
REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS
At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
Must possess a valid California locksmith license from the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS).
Select One of the Following: Authorized Driver: Role requires operation or driving of Tribe-owned vehicles or driving patron vehicles. A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the insurance carrier is required.

Primary work environment is in a facility setting.
Work may require travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences.

Strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally.
Sedentary work: very little sitting. Able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
Physical activities that apply to the essential functions of the position are balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person, via videoconference and over the telephone.
Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings, via videoconference and over the telephone.
Visual acuity that meets the requirements of the position: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading and visual inspection of employees, visitors or facility.
Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend and kneel, and enter, exit and operate a motor vehicle in the course of travel to promotional events, meetings, conferences, trade shows and San Manuel properties.
Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.
The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including secondhand smoke.
