The Blackburn Inn and Conference Center

The Blackburn Inn once served as the administrative building of Western State Hospital. Architect Thomas Blackburn was hired by Dr. Stribling, the head of Western State Hospital, to lead a renovation project in the mid-1830s, which included the addition of some of the hotel’s most signature architectural details, such as the expansive gardens and beautiful cupola.

Richmond-based developer, Robin Miller and his team purchased the property for redevelopment and opened The Blackburn Inn in June 2018.

There are 49 unique guest rooms, all of which are designed with elegance and luxury. They vary in sizes from cozy to deluxe with 27 different room configurations.

The onsite restaurant, Second Draft Bar & Bistro, is one of the most charming spots in Staunton to grab a flat bread or a glass of wine. It features an outdoor patio and live music throughout the year.

The Blackburn Inn has been a proud member of Historic Hotels of America since 2018.
