Position Summary
This position is responsible for the heavy-duty cleaning of the Isleta Resort and Casino. These duties include floor stripping/refinishing, carpet cleaning, and extraction; this also includes the Spa areas. Heavy Duty Technicians are responsible for areas that may not necessarily be maintained by the Custodial Porters. This responsibility is extended primarily to the exterior perimeter of the building extending 10’ to 20’ out and including the compactor area. All other exterior grounds and surrounding areas of the Isleta Resort and Casino are the responsibility of the Facilities Maintenance Department. Promotes and exhibits World Class Guest Service to all Isleta Resort and Casino employees and guests.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: This list of tasks is illustrative ONLY and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this class. - Works with cleaning agents, floor and carpet care chemicals
- Strips and refinishes hard floor surfaces as needed using floor maintenance equipment
- Scrubs hard floor areas using automatic floor scrubbing equipment and/or standard floor care equipment
- Polish/burnish floors as needed using high-speed floor buffers (floor machines of 1000 rpms or higher).
- Vacuums carpeted areas and clean carpets using various carpet cleaning/extraction machines
- Cleans glass/mirror surfaces using high reach window-cleaning equipment
- Cleans high reach areas such as ceiling vents, light fixtures, televisions, etc.
- Scrubs restroom floors and walls using specific floor and wall scrubbing equipment
- Scrubs Spa floors and walls using specific floor and wall scrubbing equipment.
- Cleans exterior concrete areas with high power washer or floor scrubbing equipment
- Maintains trash compactor area by power washing concrete area and maintaining area free of materials that create an unsightly and unhealthy environment
- Notifies supervisor of unusual occurrences, accidents, internal/external complaints and/or recommendations to improve the appearance of the casino
- May be assigned to drive company vehicle on public roads, to and from Isleta Pueblo properties, and/or other destinations, during shift
- May also be asked to perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.
- Occasionally performs other duties as assigned.

Accountability and Supervision:

Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent preferred.
- Six month’s experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified desirable.
- Chemical handling experience preferred

Special Requirements, Licenses, and Certification
- Must be able to acquire and maintain Gaming License issued through POIGRA.
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background investigation.
- Must be flexible with work schedule. Must be willing to work any days/hours as needed or required to meet business needs.
- Must maintain all Isleta Resort and Casino-wide educational and certification requirements.
- Must have a valid NM driver’s license; should not have had a driver’s license revoked or suspended in the last 3 years prior to the date of the Employment Application, acceptability will be determined by Risk Management. Driving records will be checked.

- Ability to operate pressure washer, floor/auto scrubber, floor buffer, chariot vacuum
- Ability to understand verbal and written communications
- Ability to interact in a pleasant, cooperative fashion with all customers, employees, and co-workers while cleaning assigned areas
- Ability to operate motorized vehicles

Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Position requires exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises.
- Possible exposure to blood and/or other potentially infectious materials
- Possible exposure to hazards or physical risks, which may require following basic safety precautions and use of personal protective equipment
- Must be able to push and/or pull objects or equipment that may weigh up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to bend and/or stoop
- Must be able to climb ladders
- Must be able to lift, move and place 50 pounds with assistance
- Must be able to work with arms extended above head
- Must be able to work at heights up to twenty-five feet
- Must be able to operate Hi-Lift equipment
