Housekeeper / Room Attendant

Job Overview

The Room Attendant/Housekeeper is responsible for the cleanliness and upkeep of guest rooms and public spaces. This role includes cleaning and maintaining assigned rooms, ensuring that hotel standards are met, and assisting with laundry services and other housekeeping tasks. This position requires attention to detail and a positive attitude when interacting with guests and team members.

Essential Functions

• Approach all interactions with guests and associates in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Maintain regular attendance in compliance with hotel standards, following a schedule that may vary depending on the needs of the hotel.
• Uphold high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
• Clean and service guest rooms, making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and replenishing amenities.
• Ensure that guest rooms and public spaces are cleaned to hotel standards, reporting any issues to management.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of housekeeping carts, linen closets, and other assigned areas.
• Ensure all housekeeping equipment is maintained in good working condition.
• Respond promptly to guest requests and communicate guest feedback or issues to management.
• Assist in cleaning and maintaining public spaces and laundry areas as needed.
• Follow safety and sanitation policies when handling cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards to the Housekeeping Manager.
• Perform other duties as requested by management to ensure the smooth operation of the housekeeping department.

Qualifications

• A positive attitude and a genuine desire to meet the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Prior housekeeping experience is a plus, but not required.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time, walk moderate distances, and lift up to 50 pounds. 
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to lift and carry cleaning equipment and supplies.
