Working with guidance from the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, and Market Manager, the Line Cooks execute food preparation and presentations.  The primary role of a Line Cook is to practice all safe food-handling methods, accurately and consistently prepare food, adapt to guest requests for modifications, and work quickly and efficiently to meet service time expectations!!!

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare food of consistently high quality by following recipes and special instructions.
  • Follow all food safety standards by date marking, proper product rotation, and proper temperature and time holding.
  • Initiate preparation of food items based on anticipated needs and properly store all food products during and after use.
  • Assist in food control standards to reduce waste.
  • Operate food preparation equipment such as fryers, broilers, stoves, steamers, food processors, mixers, slicers, ovens, steam tables, tilt kettles, waffle irons, flat-top grills, etc.
  • Clean and maintain all equipment and general working environment.
  • Contribute as a team member by reporting to work as scheduled, learning and refining processes and procedures, and supporting others as they learn.
  • Always maintain professionalism consistent with company brand and expectations and perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Job Details:

  1. Full-Time Position
  2. Weekends not required
  3. Shifts are Monday - Friday between 6am - 5pm (subject to change)
  4. Eligible for health insurance (50% employer contribution), dental, vision, life, short-term disability, and PTO after 90 days.
  5. Vacation and Sick leave.

The Success Patterns for this position are:

  1. Experience working in customer service.
  2. Experience working in a food service environment as line cook. Minimum 1 year.
  3. Experience using a Point of Sales system. Square preferred.
  4. Food handler’s certificate required.
  5. Servsafe Manager City of Chicago Certificate preferred.
  6. Servsafe Allergen Certificate preferred.
