Definition: The bell/valet attendant parks cars, gives directions, manages traffic on the front drive, helps to deliver and pick up luggage including coolers, golf clubs etc. to and from guest rooms. This includes incoming and outgoing guests. The bellman will communicate with guests and provide information on parking lots and resort amenities. They will be knowledgeable of the resort and the local area and give reliable information to hotel guests and members. Bell/valet attendants are able to perform a number of small duties such as room deliveries.

General Duties:

  • Safely park and retrieve guest vehicles.
  • Assist guests with hotel check-in process.
  • Assist guests with handling and transporting luggage.
  • Clean and maintain the front entrance of Hotel, Valet office, and Valet Parking lot.
  • Clean and maintain all bell carts.
  • Maintain professional composure in high stress situations.
  • Telephone etiquette
  • Maintain a constant awareness of resort amenity schedules and promotions.

Employment standards:

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory motor vehicle report for insurance purposes.
  • Pleasant personality.
  • Neat in appearance and well groomed.
  • Maintain proper associate uniform standards.
  • Maintain black running shoes which are slip resistant, enclosed toe and heel.
  • Exceptional communication skills, detail oriented, and ability to learn in an ever-changing work environment.
  • Multi-tasking skills.
  • Always follow all Resort rules and policies.

Physical & Mental Requirements:

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in occasional extreme temperatures.
  • Must be able to run or move quickly to provide prompt service.
  • Must be able to walk and stand for the majority of work schedule.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with the general public.
  • Must be able to communicate and disseminate information accurately.
  • Must be able to speak, comprehend reading materials and write English.
  • Must wear footwear which is slip-resistant, closed toe and heel as part of their uniform.
  • Must be able to interact with co-workers and have a sense of TEAM.
