The dish steward is responsible for cleaning and storing dishes, kitchen and cooking equipment, and smallwares in the hotel restaurant kitchen. They also keep the kitchen clean and organized, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Part time position - must be available Thursday, Friday, and Saturday

Reports to Food & Beverage Director, Assistant Food & Beverage Manager, and Food & Beverage Supervisor

Duties include but are not limited to:

Cleaning - wash, wipe, sort, and stack dishes, glasses, and cutlery. Clean and sanitize workstations, stoves, ovens, pots, pans, grills, and refrigerators. Assist with polishing silverware
Storing - store clean items in an organized and safe manner
Maintaining - use and maintain equipment according to manufacturer and department guidelines. Check chemical levels and inventory
Sanitizing - ensure adherence to sanitary, food safe, and dish handling guidelines. Use cleaning equipment and sanitizing products to ensure surfaces are clean and suitable for cooking
Organizing - create and maintain a cleaning schedule
Assisting - Assist cooks with needed, and occasionally assist in light food preparation as directed by manager or chef on duty
Reporting - report any maintenance or hazard issues to direct supervisor and engineering department. Remove any broken of chipped items from circulation and update the breakage log
Disposing - properly dispose of waste, including emptying trash bins, collecting and removing waste from the floor and work surfaces, separating recyclables, and properly disposing of grease
