The PURCHASING RECEIVING ATTENDANT (Part-time) is responsible to assist in the overall operation of purchasing, shipping, and receiving functions.

The expected base wage range for this position is: $18.50 to $23 per hour. This position may be eligible for additional compensation according to the Company's policies, as they may be amended from time to time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • To purchase, stock, and issue materials and services as directed, to meet the day-to-day requirements of general hotel operations.
  • To ship and receive hotel and guest packages as directed, maintaining proper incoming and distribution logs.
  • To understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner, deferring to the Purchasing Manager when necessary to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • To verify that the quantity, quality, condition, and type of all hotel goods received matches the invoice and/or freight bill and meets the hotel's standards.
  • To act to resolve shipping and receiving issues, in the absence of the Director of Purchasing.
  • To assist in the operation of the liquor storeroom, including ordering, receiving, and stocking liquor; calculating receiving sheets; maintaining current price lists; completing requisition and issuance reports; maintaining order and cleanliness; and assisting in monthly inventories.
  • To rotate food stock in storerooms, as directed, to ensure freshness.
  • To handle, store, and label all hazardous substances according to state and federal regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to speak, read, and write English fluently. Must be detail oriented and accurate and have good mathematical skills, including the use of the calculator. Must be able to recognize various food and beverage items. Must display knowledge of currently accepted business phone etiquette. Hotel experience preferred. A valid food handlers card must be timely obtained upon hire and maintained in good standing, which time and expense may be compensable.

Customer service focus. Able to work productively with little supervision. Trustworthy and reliable. Must be able to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines. Must have strong independent reasoning and decision-making abilities.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: Stands/walks approximately 80% of shift. Sits at desk approximately 20% of shift. Bends, lifts, reaches, and pushes to perform routine job tasks. Constantly required to handle and move objects weighing up to 30 lbs. over short distances. Frequently required to handle and move objects weighing up to 70 lbs. over short distances. Periodically required to handle and move objects weighing up to 200 lbs. over short to moderate distances, using appropriate hand trucks and carts. Occasionally required to assist in handling and moving objects weighing up to 500 lbs. over short distances, using appropriate hand trucks and carts. Patience and tact required to handle customer service situations. Heavy use of phones, daily. Frequent use of stairs. Fast-paced work environment. Guest facing position that may handle conflict and/or encounter individuals who may be upset and emotional at times.

TRAVEL: This position is not expected to travel for work.
