Description

The Recreation Attendant Lead position ensures the highest level of guest satisfaction by greeting and seating guests at the pool and fitness entrance.  The incumbent should be able to anticipate guest needs and address them accordingly in order to provide guests with a delightful experience as well as work in accordance with the service standards set forth by the management team.Leads by example and has critical-thinking, communication and problem-solving skills.Develop the skills and knowledge of recreation attendant by assisting management with planning, designing, developing and delivering training.  Communicate to management regarding professional product vendors, maintain inventory usage and distribution, ensure preventative maintenance on all pool and fitness equipment.  Collaborate with management by observation, research and development of new service options for the recreation area i.e. fitness center, yoga room, pool deck and cabanas.  Work with management on protocols, standards and expectations. Training new talent to bring on board.  Conducting job evaluation surveys liaising with managers and upholding standards and expectations with all employees at all levels to accurately identify and assess training and development needs. Accurately explains recreation and pool service options to guests.  Assists guests with scheduling Fitness Classes, Cabanas, Cabana and Spa packages, Poolside Spa Services with accuracy and consistency.  Report any pricing or description inconsistencies via collateral, marketing/advertising, or booking system defects. Assists with Recreation activations and events, cabana upsell opportunities and promotional activities at the resort.

What will I be doing?

Duties and Supporting Responsibilities

Offer the highest level of personalized service while maintaining a gracious, enthusiastic, helpful and professional attitude with all guests and team members. Greeting guests and directing them to the Pool entrance or Fitness and Wellness Center. Gain preference of seating by offering Cabana, Sun or Shade. Enter poolside guests into Cabana booking system or communicate with Pool servers for seamless F&B service. Be responsible for setting up lounge chairs and cabanas. Assist guests with sun shades (umbrella) location, set-up and maintenance throughout the day.  Delivering clean towels and removing all soiled towels for pool and fitness center. Anticipate guest needs, as to where guests will never have to ask for anything. Check on daily amenities per hour and deliver to guest. Setup and maintain the pool environment and material perfectly clean as per side work checklist description. Maintain fitness facility by performing necessary housekeeping duties (picking up towels, cups, shower & bathroom area, vanity area and all surrounding areas). Ability to give orientation tours and describe the fitness equipment to all guests entering the fitness and wellness center. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to work in a fast-paced indoor/outdoor environment while maintaining a calm appearance. Keep all pool deck areas, fitness center and locker rooms clean and free of debris. Follow Waldorf Astoria grooming and appearance guidelines while maintaining a positive attitude.  Following the posted opening and closing duties and side work sheet. Attend and or read on posted or What’sApp daily chat all pre shift and or communication. Attend monthly department meeting as required. Ensure the recreation area FOH and BOH is clean, neat, and organized.  Files paperwork in the appropriate files. Answers questions using proper etiquette and professionalism. Keep supplies stocked and ordered. Merchandise/display product (Retail promo/BOH dispensary) and arrange displays for best representation. Assist and train recreation attendants with “zone” scheduling. Other duties as assigned by management.

Mandatory

Safety Requirements Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required when performing work duties that may have the potential of risk to your health or safety. The hotel will provide the required PPE. Team members will be trained in the proper use and care of any assigned PPE. It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly, to your Manager.

Grooming & Demeanor

All team members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available). Along with maintaining a positive, supportive disposition.

Experience

At least 1 year experience in the spa or hospitality industry preferred.  Experience in a resort, or recreation related field preferred.    Experience in product and service sales.

Education

High school graduate or equivalent required.
