Job Title:  Accounting Manager

Status:      Exempt

Job Summary: 

Responsible for payroll and Accounts Receivable functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, and submitting data to Corporate Office.

  •     Maintains time clock, ensuring the time is correct and the clock is working properly; Gets clock serviced, when necessary
  •     Responsible for Accounts Receivable invoices and postings 
  •     Ensures employees are paid accurately by reviewing time sheets with managers and making corrections when required
  •     Transmits accurate payroll to the central payroll office, according to an established schedule
  •     Verifies that final checks are received on time and all checks are accurate before distributing to the employees
  •     Communicates with all levels of hotel and hotel vendors
  •     Keeps managers abreast of relevant changes in the payroll system and time sheets, and provides ongoing training on analyzing payroll reports
  •      Assists employees with payroll questions, address changes, deduction changes, etc.
  •      Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential
  •      Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education/Experience

Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college in accounting or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of one-year experience in payroll processing.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Working knowledge of payroll software needed.
