We're looking for an Assistant Restaurant General Manager to lead our team & captivate our guests!

What will I be doing?

The Assistant General Manager will be responsible for helping the restaurant exceed service, sales, and profit objectives along with supervising and directing team members in daily work activities. The Assistant General Manager will be responsible to assist the General Manager manage and lead the restaurant & Hotel F&B operations.

We are looking for an innovative, creative and trendy experienced restaurant leader to mark our position as the spot to be for the best experience in Toronto. 

To successfully fill this role, you should be able to demonstrate the attitude, behaviors, skills and values that follow:

  • Oversee and manage restaurant & bar service; ensure the restaurant operations is running smoothly & efficiently
  • Manage staff & enforce steps of service, providing them with feedback; maintain a high level of employee morale
  • Ensure positive guest service in all areas; investigate and respond to complaints, taking any and all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests
  • Deliver daily briefings maintaining a high level of employee morale and energy, while elevating communication and relationship with other departments, including the kitchen
  • Support the Restaurant General Manager by managing labor, control costs, ordering of restaurant supplies
  • Work with the marketing team to creatively innovate and drive awareness and revenue
  • Oversee & support
  • Recruit, train, motivate staff; oversee continual training and performance; keep employee records up-to-date and organized
  • Recommend food and beverage pairings; advise guests on beverages based on their personal tastes and food choices
  • Adhere to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs, including food, beverage, supply, utility, and labor costs
  • Manage, coach, counsel and follow the disciplinary process where applicable
  • Responsible to support the GM manage bottom line and GOP through labor and cost controls
  • Implement processes to enhance, drive and increase revenues
  • Maintain high levels of quality control, hygiene, health and safety; uphold professional restaurant image, including restaurant cleanliness, proper uniforms and appearance standards

Requirements

What are we looking for?

To successfully fill this role, you should be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Minimum 5 years in a leadership role
  • In depth knowledge / expertise of the hospitality / food & beverage service industry
  • Analytical mindset, with an ability to review P&L on beverage costs & ensure profitability
  • Self-motivated with a high degree of integrity, honesty and ethics; self-starter, flexible, and able to work independently
  • Ability to multi-task, and change priorities constantly as needed in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to develop and maintain strong relations with guests and all team members
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft office software, POS system, Reservation system, and other related applications
  • Exceptional guest service orientation and passion for all things food and beverage
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks with an appropriate sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment; ability to absorb and retain information quick
