The stunning oceanfront resort, The Diplomat Beach Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton, is looking for a Commercial Development Manager to join their Sales team! This breezy 1000-room property on Hollywood Beach with award-winning restaurants and activities sits along the Diplomat Landing Marina and has 209,000 sq. ft. of flexible indoor and outdoor event space.

This role is responsible for the development of new market segment(s) and solicitation of new customer relationships and accounts that can directly impact targeted commercial strategies and needs for the property. The ideal candidate has 2-4 years working in hotel Group Sales.

Shift Pattern: Mon-Fri, flexibility as needed

Compensation: $70,000-80,0000 annually

What will I be doing?

• Represents hotel(s) in the proactive selling and development of market segments and overall market positioning through new customer relationships. 
• Identifies new business opportunities by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements
• Establishes contact with new customers effectively penetrating and saturating accounts
• Primary attention to in-house bookings, Lost and Turned Down bookings, and available data through reader board reports. Position also required to promote in advance hotel(s) to incoming citywide events to protect assigned blocks 

More specifically:

• 40% - Responsibly represent the hotel through active solicitation, creating targeted plans to identify new accounts and opportunities that impact specific commercial needs, creating business proposals and other external sales presentations to prospective customers to solicit, explain, negotiate and close hotel sales. 
• 25% - Travel and engage in sales activities outside of the hotel to meet with and entertain customers and prospective customers, participate in tradeshows, and industry and community events to promote facilities, to make proposals, maintain contacts, and to close deals.
• 20% - Write proposals and/or contracts to advise prospective groups for meeting space and/or banquet date, space and rate availability for group accommodations (10-50 guest rooms) for moderately complex meetings. Develop and quote prices for same.
• 5% - Attend weekly sales departmental meeting and other scheduled meetings to support business operations, e.g., tentative review, lost business review, group-pick up, etc.
• 5% - Conduct site inspections and property tours with potential customers
