Purpose:The AP Analyst will support the Accounts Payable team by facilitating general ledger account reconciliations, preparing, and analyzing reports, and providing team support as needed.
Essential Functions:
Analyzes and monitors the accounting function of the Accounts Payable Processing department
Audits and corrects AP transaction related errors
Acts as primary resource on projects and process improvements, including updates to department policies and procedures
Accurately perform and complete month end accounts payable reconciliations and prepares journal entries
Prepare accurate and timely accounts payable data and reports to leadership
Reconcile vendor accounts through monthly statement reconciliation and review
Perform other duties as required to support accounting operations
Reporting Relationship: The Accounts Payable Analyst reports to the Manager, Accounts Payable
Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment:
Education and Experience: The combination of education and professional experience must exceed 3 years:
In a technical role: Requires 3 years of direct experience within accounts payable supporting high volume vendors
In the industry: 2 of years of Hospitality, F&B and/or Retail experience
Specialized Training:
SAP system experience strongly preferred
Specialized Skillset/Competencies/Traits
Ability to efficiently work with a high volume of accounting transactions
Solid understanding of the invoice to pay process, including sub ledger and general
Ledger account balancing and reconciliation.
Strong accounting skills demonstrating ability to identify root cause, generating and evaluating alternatives and implementing solutions; Ability to recognize and recommend changes.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Business acumen and also has the mindset required to understand the long-term implications of accounts payable to advance the organizations goals
Demonstrated history of understanding the needs of the business, stakeholders, the employee population and individual circumstances
Demonstrated history of creating and maintaining positive work environments
