Your Mission

Should you decide to accept it…

The Global Sales Office (GSO) is responsible for positioning Virgin Hotels Collection as a market leader in the ultra-luxury (VLE) and luxury lifestyle (VLE) space by driving awareness through targeted segment strategies. They manage the brand’s global strategic partnerships and generate incremental sales through new client acquisition and overall account management. The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for the productivity and achievement of sales goals for the brand’s top producing accounts in their respective region, and will work closely with the Director of Leisure Sales, Americas and the Property Sales Teams to ensure that regional sales strategies are in line with property goals and optimize financial performance. This is a remote role.

The Nitty Gritty

What exactly you will be doing…

In helping you understand your role in working for a world class organization, the following is a list of your essential job responsibilities. Please keep in mind that this list is not all inclusive and that you may be asked to perform other job tasks by your supervisors/managers not listed below in the constant quest to provide “out of this world” customer service experience for our guests:

  1. Sales Strategy Development:
    • Develop and maintain detailed and real-time knowledge of all competitor and market activity
    • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities and optimize sales effectiveness
    • Develop a comprehensive quarterly SMART goal detailing objectives, timelines, and sales methods
  2. Revenue Generation
    • Generate hotel awareness through outside sales calls, client entertainment, presentations, familiarization trips, sales trips, cold calling and emailing, networking, and attending industry events. 
    • Deploy short term sales initiatives and long-term strategies to maximize transient market share for the assigned territory and managed accounts
    • Work closely with the Global Director of Group Sales to solicit, sell and confirm group business required to meet budgeted sales goals. Candidate should possess the ability to solicit group travel
    • Collaborate with the revenue and marketing team to create targeted campaigns and promotions that attract leisure travelers 
  1. Relationship Management
    • Inspire and enhance the Virgin culture with on property teams, fostering innovation and implementing best practices to enhance sales processes and customer satisfaction
    • and demonstrate functional expertise
    • Cultivate and maintain strategic trade partnerships with key stakeholders and travel partners in the Western Region (Consortiums, Travel Advisors, Tour Operators, DMCs, Meeting Planners and Incentive Houses
    • Facilitate individual reservations and group inquiries for managed accounts, providing professional, timely, and attentive service
    • Conduct yearly Tour Operator contracting and brochure copy check
    • Coordinate and produce email blasts and mailings as neede
    • Has the ability to be a Public Ambassador for Virgin Hotels Collection 
  1. Data Analysis and Reporting
    • Utilize A360 for data analytics to track and analyze sales performance and account penetration 
    • Identify emerging market trends, consumer behaviors, and competitive threats to inform strategic decision-making and help properties maintain a competitive edge
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in Delphi in order to monitor and develop our database to ensure effective mailings and correct client history
    • Track sales activities and post trip reports in Delphi, highlighting key insights and recommending strategic adjustments to on property teams
    • Complete monthly expense reports, sales activity reports, and other month-end duties
    • Maintain and update internal reports, databases, and tracking documents
Background Must Have
  • Current, legal and unrestricted ability to work in the United States
  • This is a remote role. Strong preference for candidates to be based in Los Angeles, California, due to assigned region
  • Minimum 5+ years of Luxury Hotel experience, with established relationships in the leisure market within the assigned region
  • Able to demonstrate quick wins, to gain incremental business to the brand within first 90 days
  • Strategic thinker with high emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal skills
  • Must function optimally in a team environment and possess a dynamic and agreeable demeanor, capable of managing criticism and conflict effectively
  • Exceptional follow-up capabilities and a strong business development acumen
  • Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, organized, and able achieve goals with minimal direct supervision
  • with a self-motivated approach
  • Strong time management skills, able to manage multiple priorities and reprioritize when necessary.
  • Knowledge of and ability to analyze strategies through utilization of Amadeus Agency360
  • Ability to analyze, interpret and understand financial data as it relates to sales performance
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time
