The Opportunity

A Team Member greets and serves guests, prepares product, maintains food safety and sanitation standards, and handles or processes light paperwork. Exceptional customer service is a major component of this position, but not limited to the following:

  • Complete suggestive selling techniques for each customer.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of menu items and explain them to guests accurately.
  • Prepare food neatly, according to formula, and in a timely manner.
  • Complete daily work routines in an efficient and prompt manner.
  • Check products in prep area and restocks items to ensure a sufficient supply throughout the shift.
  • Understand and adhere to proper food handling, safety and sanitation standards during food preparation, service and clean up. Understands and adheres to the 3-step method for cleaning.
  • Clean and maintain all areas of the restaurant to promote a clean image.
  • Complete food preparation, which may include cooking of product.
  • Complete training courses as directed by the Manager.
  • Comply with all food and beverage health and safety regulations, as well as all Federal, State, Tribal and local applicable laws. Ensuring food is prepared and stored correctly and preparation areas are maintained according to Health & Safety standards.
  • Carry out temperature checks and records as per company processes.
  • Completes daily and weekly cleaning schedules as per the cleaning charts.
  • Take precautions to prevent theft of, and damage to, the stock or store.
  • Follow company security procedures.
  • Secure cash and stock from loss or theft.
  • Count end of shift monies and drops in safe.
  • Use Point of Sale system/cash registers to record the order and compute the amount of the bill. Collect payment from guests and makes change.
  • Follow safety procedures to prevent injury.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What Qualifies You

  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Six (6) months previous retail or food & beverage experience preferred.
  • Must be able to pass company pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test.
  • Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.

Must Have Skills

  • Must have strong Guest service skills.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Must possess effective communication and organization skills.
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, percentage.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, percentages, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to count money and make proper change.
  • Must be able to apply common sense understanding in order to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is regularly required to:

  • Talk and hear;
  • See and adjust focus to include close, distance, color, depth, and peripheral vision;
  • Stand, walk, run, sit, balance, stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, and/or crawl;
  • Handle objects, tools, and controls; reach with arms and hands.
  • Lift, push, pull and/or move objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to:

  • A low-to-moderate noise level (offices).
  • A moderate-to-loud noise level (operations areas).
  • Moving mechanical and/or electrical components.
  • At times may be exposed to outside weather conditions.
