The Bartender is responsible for ensuring a fun and entertaining visit for customers in the Café and Bar, providing a warm and inviting welcome experience and a superlative food and beverage experience.

- Contributes to the departmental and property monthly goals for guest satisfaction scores by doing the job right the first time and giving exemplary service that goes above and beyond guest expectations. This is Job One for all team members.
- Greets customers with a warm and friendly tone, using their names whenever possible. Becomes familiar with frequent customers in the Seven Rooms CRM system. Learns their preferences.
- Takes personal responsibility to rectify guest complaints to their satisfaction. Listen actively to the guest’s complaint or concern, tell them what you are going to do, and then follow through, entering the issue in Quore and taking personal responsibility to ensure the guest is satisfied with the outcome. Never let a guest leave unhappy.
- Promotes safe alcohol consumption by educating customers, describing product details to them, promoting our alcohol suppliers, explaining the menu to them, helping them to enjoy their experiences, broaden their horizons, and introducing them to new products as well as answering questions.
- Cross promotes the Red House Tavern for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch, and The Shop to all guests.
- Prepares and serves liquor, mixed drinks, wine, beer, and nonalcoholic drinks, attending to the detail and presentation of each item, using established recipes.
- Ensures that customers are of legal drinking age by checking photo IDs.
- Generates additional revenue by attracting new customers and defining new and expanded services and products.
- Becomes familiar with all equipment by reading manuals. Maintains all equipment as specified.
- Ensures that fruit and other garnishes are prepared ahead of the opening of the bar.
- Attractively displays glasses and liquor bottles.
- Keeps bar supplied with snacks.
- Receives orders from patrons and waitstaff.
- Receives and processes customer payments.
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area, and always ensures smooth operation of bar. Completes cleaning according to daily and weekly schedules, including dishwashing as needed.

- Serves food to customers who want to eat at the bar.
- Adheres to proper alcohol handling, sanitation, and safety procedures, and maintains appropriate dating, labeling, and rotation of all beverage items.
- Submits orders or creates requisition forms for liquor, beer, and other bar-related supplies. Participates in inventory when scheduled.
- Contributes ideas for daily, holiday, and theme drink menus.
- Take personal responsibility to rectify guest complaints to their satisfaction. Utilize the Quore tool to record guest related issues and their resolution or escalation.
- Uses proper judgment and, when necessary, refuses service to patrons who are intoxicated or disruptive.
- Assists with orienting new employees to their work area. Instructs personnel in use of new equipment and cleaning methods and provides efficient and effective methods of maintaining work area.
- Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes, implementing changes, and maintaining and improving the appearance of the Café and Hotel.
- Identifies leads for sales by surfacing information on guests’ companies and reasons to visit and communicate them to Sales using the specified method.
- Makes safety and security a top priority. Is completely trained in competent in all emergency procedures and be ready to take charge in an emergency. Is constantly aware of potential security threats and models If You See Something, Say Something by notifying the Manager on Duty or any other Manager. Follows property OSHA/HAZCOM procedures.
- Maintains regular attendance in compliance with the hotel’s standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
- Wears appropriate brand required uniform and name tag during all scheduled shifts.
- Performs all other duties assigned from time to time.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Extensive knowledge of drink preparation or service.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and focus on serving customers.
- Ability to remain calm when dealing with unruly and argumentative patrons.
- Ability to learn cash register software used by bar or restaurant.
Education and Experience
- Completion of mixology, barkeeping, or other related training required.
- At least one year of related experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods standing and preparing drinks.
- Ability to complete orders quickly and accurately.
- Must be able to lift at least 15 pounds.
- Must be legal drinking age or older.
