The opportunity

Delaware North Parks and Resorts is hiring Guest Operations Interns to join our team at Kennedy Space Center in Merritt Island, Florida.

Are you an undergraduate or graduate student seeking an internship in a fast-paced, inclusive environment with real-world learning opportunities? Delaware North internships are paid and can be completed for academic credit. Summer internship dates typically span 10-14 weeks.

What will you do?

Orientation and Training:

The interns will be introduced to the various operations and guest experience procedures at KSCVC.

Learning Objectives:

  • Project Management
  • Leadership- will be matched with a Senior leadership Mentor
  • Attractions and Ride Operations: They will learn about ride safety, guest flow management, and related procedures.
  • Guest Services: The interns will be taught how to handle guest relations and VIP experiences, in the Delaware North way.

Special Project: 

The interns will work on improving the “KSC Experience.” This project will involve:
  • Researching emerging technologies, trends, and guest expectations.
  • Brainstorming innovative concepts to enhance our guest experiences and operational efficiency.
  • Develop a proposal outlining the project’s vision, feasibility, and potential impact.
Mentor-ship and Professional Development:
  • Each intern will be paired with a senior manager who will serve as a mentor throughout the program. 
  • Mentors will provide guidance, advice, and insights into DNC and KSCVC.
  • The interns will participate in leadership and project management meetings.
  • They will have one-on-ones with senior leadership, including a shadow day.
Regular Check-ins and Feedback:
Interns will have regular check-ins with mentors to discuss progress, challenges, and learning objectives. They will receive constructive feedback to facilitate growth.
Final Presentation:
After the program, the interns will present their “KSC Experience” project proposal to a panel of Senior Leadership. This presentation will showcase their creativity, research, and problem-solving skills. 

More about you

  • Must be at least 18 years old. 
  • Working towards or have a bachelor’s degree in hospitality. 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office. 

Physical requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand long periods of time. 
  • Able to withstand outdoor Florida climates.
