Responsibilities:  As a Reservations Agent, you will be able to learn about all the resort has to offer, be calm and confident on the phone, and proficiently upsell our product.  In this role you will be responsible to: 

• Handle incoming calls using good listening and communication skills to secure information necessary to complete a reservation
• Use good selling techniques to up-sell when appropriate
• Process daily reports, confirmations, advance deposits, and purchase orders for future reservations
• Update GDS reservations (online reservation sites) in reservations system (Resort Suite) and on-line extranets
• Assist the Reservation Supervisor and Group Rooms Coordinator with Reservation Department operations
• Projects and assignments are completed thoroughly, professionally, and with care
• Adjusts to high-pressure conditions and is open to change
• Assumes responsibility for personal growth and development
• Conducts him\herself, always acts and dresses professionally; sets standards for all associates
• Actively listens to others

Requirements:

• Prior experience in a hotel environment 
• Strong knowledge of software applications is beneficial, especially Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and hotel-specific platforms (OnQ, Opera, Fosse, Lightspeed, HotSOS, GXP, BOB, Kipsu, Slack)
• Strong communication and listening skills and excellent speaking, reading, and writing ability
• Must be able to type 30 words per minute with 80% accuracy
• Fluency in English: additional languages preferred. Spanish language skills are highly desired
• Flexible schedule required for days, weekends, and holidays
• High energy with effective and influential people skills. Positive attitude and the desire to motivate others
• The ability to prioritize and work on several projects simultaneously should pose a challenge without being overwhelming
• Ability to comprehend and use technical or professional language, either written or spoken, to communicate complex ideas
