Summary:
This position is responsible for monitoring Starbucks store level operation performance and the day-to-day supervision of Starbucks associates including assigning work and coaching and developing associates. This is an exempt position and typically reports to the Starbucks General Manager and/or designee, depending on local requirements.
Essential Functions:
Supervises the day-to-day activities of non-exempt associates for assigned Starbucks unit(s) Assigns work tasks and activities, prepares schedules, and ensures that all shifts are covered based on Starbucks brand standards and HMSHost standards Prepares daily orders, ensures units are stocked with appropriate levels of product and coaches Shift Supervisors and Assistant F&B Operations Managers on order procedures Coordinates and conducts on-the-job Starbucks and HMSHost trainings for associates to ensure all associates receive basic skills training to perform their jobs Maintains a working knowledge of all applicable Starbucks brand standards, CBAs, Landlord lease agreements, and all procedures and protocols to maximize brand/landlord/labor relations Maintains understanding of all federal, state, and local sanitary, safety, and health standards, and all procedures and protocols to comply with the law Interviews candidates, provides recommendations for hiring, terminations, advancement, promotion or any other status change of associates within the store Uses judgment and discretion to resolve less routine questions and problems and refers more complex issues to higher levels Utilizes associate’s strengths and provides ongoing feedback that reflects on progress against individual development goals and business goalsMinimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment:
Requires 2-3 or more years of experience as a supervisor or unit-level manager in high volume Food and Beverage or Merchandise operations or other related management experience; Starbucks experience preferred Requires knowledge of aspects of Starbucks licensed store operations including Barista Basics, Barista Trainer and LS Leader Training. Requires demonstrated experience understanding and using internal management and financial report.
