Reporting to the Director, Food & Beverage, the Onboarding Specialist, Food & Beverage is responsible for the development, preparation, revision, and implementation of the departmental hiring, tracking, orientation, and onboarding process. The Onboarding Specialist, Food & Beverage collaborates with members of management to ensure a seamless and consistent onboarding and training process for all department new hires, transfers, and existing team members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Responsible for execution of department recruiting responsibilities, to include, but not limited to attending hiring events and interview sessions, tracking each applicant in process prior to being hired, as well as updating management team of potential staffing levels concerns.2. Ensures a consistent and exceptional onboarding experience/successful transition for new hires joining the enterprise and department. Conducts New Employee Orientation (NEO) and tour of facility for department new hires as needed.3. Coordinates with training personnel to schedule training courses in accordance with training needs for department. Maintains up-to-date training records and ensures compliance with required training for all department team members.4. Interacts directly with department new hires at multiple points throughout onboarding and probationary period to assist with any questions or needs and seeks feedback for improvement to onboarding process.5. Responsible for establishing and consistently enhancing team member experience; producing a measurable and demonstrable impact on the Food & Beverage team members' retention efforts that sets a standard within the Enterprise.6. Responsible for department completion on all engagement action plans adopted by department management, including scheduling meetings, tracking status, and maintaining high level of accountability.7. Collaborates with all members of the department for continuous improvements to department hiring and onboarding process.8. Coordinates department’s orientation to include handouts, packets, refreshments, and comfortable accommodations, ensuring a high level of hospitality.9. Maintains strong working relationships with department management and multiple internal departments to successfully resolve any challenges new team members experience.10. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
EDUCATIONAL, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED required.
Associate’s Degree preferred.
Minimum of one (1) year Food & Beverage or Onboarding experience required.
Experience working in a Casino or Food & Beverage industry preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)
Proficient in Microsoft Office such as Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Experience with internet web navigation applications and acquaintance with other business software.
Ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced, high demand environment.
Demonstrates great attention to detail with strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Strong interpersonal skills; including telephone skills, written and verbal communication, and active listening.
Ability to multi-task with strong time management and organizational skills.
Must be personable and professional, capable of using caution and discretion in communication.
REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS
At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
A qualified candidate/employee must have and maintain a current San Bernardino County Food Handler’s Card upon employment.
A qualified candidate/employee must have and maintain a current California Responsible Beverage Certification upon employment.
