Compensation: 22.50 per hour, Tiempo Completo

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Cage Manager, the Cage Supervisor will supervisor Cage Cashiers, Main Bankers, and protect the company assets within the Cage during an assigned shift. Provides quality Guest service, including but not limited to processing transactions, handling disputes, servicing Cage machinery (Coin/Currency counters, Kiosks, ATM’s, etc.), and assisting Cashiers with Guest relations.

Note: Native American preference will be given.  

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Communicates directly with Guests, management, and other Casino personnel, and must maintain a professional demeanor and a positive attitude at all times.
  • Is knowledgeable of Cage Policies and Procedures as well as Internal Controls, and is capable of filling any Cage position on any shift (Main Banker, Fill Banker, and/or Cashier) as required – “on-call” status.
  • Track Guest transactions and prepare/maintain MIL, MTL and CTR’s.
  • Schedules personnel during changing conditions. Remains flexible and adaptable and must be able to work all shifts and all days, including Holidays as necessary or assigned.
  • Performance appraisals, coaching, mediations, and dispute resolution.
  • Engage disciplinary actions with subordinates when applicable.
  • Investigate variances; process requests for review with Surveillance.
  • Complete reports and assignments within a reasonable timeframe; accuracy and clarity in verbal and written communications.
  • Utilize email to communicate with Cage Managers, Cage Supervisors, and other Departments as required; relay information from shift to shift.
  • Accurate verification of transactions.
  • Ensure Vault bankroll is maintained at an acceptable level to ensure Casino needs are met; order Currency and/or Coin when necessary.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Monitor and control Cage break schedule.
  • Any additional duties assigned by Assistant Cage Manager and/or Cage Manager.

Experience and Education:

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent or any combination of education and experience totaling two (2) years.
  • Mathematics skills and ability to operate a 10-key calculator
  • Use of a Coin sorter and Currency counter
  • Intermediate computer knowledge
  • Experience with counting and cashing Chips, Coin, and Currency.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. 
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, policies and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Bilingual a plus; at a minimum, the ability to understand and be understood to all Spanish speaking individuals
  • Knowledge of process for handling Traveler’s Checks, Personal Checks, electronic Checks, Debit and Credit cards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent or any combination of education and experience totaling two (2) years (add years of experience)
  • Two (2) years’ experience in the Gaming or Banking Industries
  • Two (2) years working within a Supervisory capacity
  • One (1) year Cashiering experience
  • Must be 21 years old or older
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain gaming license from the Pueblo of Tesuque Gaming Commission.

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

The Cage Supervisoris responsible for overseeing the Cage Staff when on duty, ensuring alignment with departmental and organizational objectives. The supervisor provides guidance and assistance in addressing unusual situations that may arise, particularly those without clear precedents or requiring interpretation of policies and regulations.

Following initial training, the Cage Supervisoris expected to perform duties independently, demonstrating proficiency and autonomy in task execution. Regular spot checks are conducted to evaluate accuracy, adequacy, timeliness, and compliance with relevant rules, regulations, and policies.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand and walk for extended periods. The employee occasionally is required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee will be required to talk for extended periods and must be able to hear and understand. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to fifty (50) pounds.  The work environment includes a variety of settings: computers, office equipment, cash, and other hard surfaces. The incumbent occasionally exposed to loud noise, change in temperatures, and second-hand smoke.

Work Environment:

Work is generally performed in a casino setting with exposure to second-hand smoke and a high noise level. Due to the nature and scope of this position, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours and irregular shifts will be required.
