Responsibilities:
- Preparing or editing purchase orders from various departments
- Checking the stock inventory to meet requirements for the Resort level of business
- Placing orders with suppliers/vendors
- Maintaining a filing system within the department and updating when required;
- Check in all deliveries against PO and invoices for accuracy
- Interaction with suppliers/vendors noting any delays in delivery of supplies, receipt of damaged or incorrect quantity of goods
- Receiving all food, beverage and general invoices against PO’s using Birchstreet
- Deliver all orders to proper department /outlet
- Fulfill and deliver all storeroom requisitions
- Shipping and Receiving duties
- Must be fluent in spoken and written English in order to articulate and communicate to vendors, drivers, various departments and guests
Qualifications:
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong knowledge of accounting procedures
- Ability to work with computers and software
- Good communication skills to interact with various departments of the company, outside contacts and knowledge of the shipping/receiving process
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and operate pallet jack
- Previous experience working in a similar hotel/resort setting preferred
Language Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to communicate and work well with fellow employees and maintain a presentable appearance, behavior and manner at all times. Ability to process administrative work. Ability to resolve guest and employee conflicts. Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach, pull, and push with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and may occasionally be required to climb or balance. The employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Use telephone and copier machine.
