Under the direction of the Cage Operations Manager, the Cage Operations Supervisor is responsible for the overall supervision of the Senior Cashiers, Line Cashiers, and Cage Support Cashiers. The Cage Operations Supervisor carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the enterprise’s policies and all applicable laws, while championing the goals and priorities of the Tribe in a manner that reflects and upholds the Tribal Community’s vision, mission and values.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Maintains security and accountability of enterprise funds. Responsible for San Manuel assets within the designated cages on an assigned shift.  Ensures accuracy of all documents submitted by subordinate personnel.  Conducts investigation of any overage/shortage error and makes necessary corrections where applicable. Completes discrepancy reports for Cage Operations Management, summarizing results of investigations and actions taken, if any.

2. Verifies various types of payouts.  Supervises Cage Cashiers to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.  Informs Cashiers of changes in regards to policies and procedures.  Adheres strictly to all Gaming regulations. Conducts daily uniform inspections.  Attends bi-annual Title 31 training class. Maintains Title 31 compliance.

3. Provides excellent Customer Service and presents and conducts his/herself in a professional manner at all times, maintaining a high level of respect for customer, co-workers, management, and San Manuel.  Provides an orderly and positive working environment, with emphasis on open communication.  Attends and responds to initial customer concerns.

4. Coordinates with outside companies for maintenance of enterprise-owned machinery and other equipment.  Operates all computer-related equipment as well as a ten-key adding machine.

5. Prepares staffing schedules for the Cashiers.  Approves days off, vacations and personal days.  Follows-up with paperwork to management.  Monitors overtime, excessive tardiness/absenteeism of Cage Operations Cashiers.  Sends Cashiers home early when justifiable, so as to offset overtime.

6. Prepares and conducts team member meetings.  Schedules and conducts monthly one on one meetings with subordinates. Prepares bi-annual performance evaluations and reviews.  Approves and makes recommendations for subordinate evaluations.

7. Works all Cage Operations positions, as needed.

8. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department and assumes other responsibilities, duties, tasks and assignments that contribute to the mitigation or response to any public health emergency.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.   Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning reviewing and directing work; evaluating and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.  Makes hiring decisions and designs individual development plans with succession planning in mind for all key roles.

Education/Experience/Qualifications

  • Associates degree is required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience is required.
  • Minimum of three (3) months of supervisory, management, and/or training experience is preferred.
  • Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.
  • Demonstrated experience in credit operations is preferred.

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations

  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
