About the Role: We are seeking a dynamic Director of Hotel Operations to oversee all aspects of our hotel’s guest services, food & beverage and housekeeping departments. This leadership role requires a hands-on approach, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to create exceptional experiences for our guests. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment and must have a flexible to schedule.

Responsibilities:  As Director of Operations you will oversee all day-to-day operations of Rooms Division, ensuring that all established front office, housekeeping and hotel policies are followed. Represent the hotel as Senior Leadership MOD during scheduled shifts.

  • Liaise with Senior Management to make decisions for operational activities and set strategic goals
  • Plan and monitor the day-to-day running of business to ensure smooth progress
  • Oversee customer support processes and organize them to enhance customer satisfaction
  • Review financial information and adjust operational budgets to promote profitability
  • Revise and/or formulate policies and promote their implementation
  • Manage relationships/agreements with external partners/vendors
  • Evaluate overall performance by gathering, analyzing and interpreting data and metrics
  • Provides assistance to other employees and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and the hotel
  • Communicate with Department Managers on all guest and employee concerns & challenges
  • Follow-up on any guest complaints or problems a guest may experience in a timely and professional fashion to ensure a quality guest experience
  • Maintains a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanour at all times. Performs other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management
  • Serve as the on-call leader during nights and peak times, addressing issues and making critical decisions as needed
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development
  • Conduct regular team meetings and training sessions to ensure staff are well-informed and motivated
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Position requires a flexible schedule and ability to work nights and weekends.

Requirements:  

  • Proven experience as Director of Operations or equivalent position
  • Minimum of three to five years’ related experience  
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a hotel setting 
  • Previous multiple department supervisory experience 
  • Strong knowledge of software applications is beneficial, especially Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and hotel-specific platforms (OnQ, Opera, Fosse, Lightspeed, HotSOS, GXP, BOB, Kipsu, Slack) preferred  
  • Schedule flexibility is a must 
  • Have excellent English communication skills and able to read, write and speak fluently 
  • Driver's license  
  • Experience with maintaining a budget and labor controls and costs 
  • Customer service and interpersonal relations 

Compensation: $85,000
