Responsibilities: As Director of Operations you will oversee all day-to-day operations of Rooms Division, ensuring that all established front office, housekeeping and hotel policies are followed. Represent the hotel as Senior Leadership MOD during scheduled shifts.
- Liaise with Senior Management to make decisions for operational activities and set strategic goals
- Plan and monitor the day-to-day running of business to ensure smooth progress
- Oversee customer support processes and organize them to enhance customer satisfaction
- Review financial information and adjust operational budgets to promote profitability
- Revise and/or formulate policies and promote their implementation
- Manage relationships/agreements with external partners/vendors
- Evaluate overall performance by gathering, analyzing and interpreting data and metrics
- Provides assistance to other employees and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and the hotel
- Communicate with Department Managers on all guest and employee concerns & challenges
- Follow-up on any guest complaints or problems a guest may experience in a timely and professional fashion to ensure a quality guest experience
- Maintains a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanour at all times. Performs other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management
- Serve as the on-call leader during nights and peak times, addressing issues and making critical decisions as needed
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development
- Conduct regular team meetings and training sessions to ensure staff are well-informed and motivated
- Other duties as assigned
- Position requires a flexible schedule and ability to work nights and weekends.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as Director of Operations or equivalent position
- Minimum of three to five years’ related experience
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a hotel setting
- Previous multiple department supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of software applications is beneficial, especially Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and hotel-specific platforms (OnQ, Opera, Fosse, Lightspeed, HotSOS, GXP, BOB, Kipsu, Slack) preferred
- Schedule flexibility is a must
- Have excellent English communication skills and able to read, write and speak fluently
- Driver's license
- Experience with maintaining a budget and labor controls and costs
- Customer service and interpersonal relations
Compensation: $85,000
