TITLE:                                               Director of Sales for our Candlewood Suites-East Indianapolis 46219

DEPARTMENT:                                Sales

SUMMARY:  Responsible for generating top line revenue to meet or exceed budget expectations.  Work closely with the General Manager, Regional Sales Director and hotel team to develop and implement an effective revenue generating plan. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Develop and maintain revenue generating plan and sales budget with the General Manager and Regional Sales Director.

Increase revenue from market segments and key accounts.

Help coordinate yield management with the General Manager and Operations Manager.

Prepare weekly sales meetings.

Rigorously follow up with all leads in a timely manner.

Identify referrals and send cold leads back to the lead generation group.

Focus on the proper mix of business for the hotel

Penetrate and saturate customer organization to do department selling.

Know competitors top accounts, decision makers, rates and what it will take to move business.

Qualify leads and prospects gained from cold calls, sales blitzes, National Sales Office and other sources.

Cultivate lead sources, qualify in-house guests. 

Complete weekly sales call reports and maintain CRM.  Submit reports to the General Manager, Regional Sales Director and Home Office, as requested.

Network with prospects to uncover other decision makers.

Establish and maintain close contact with accounts through phone calls, tours, appointments, correspondence and entertainment.  Assess future and current needs of the guests.

Maintain and back-up computer sales files and trace system of accounts.

Develop team member attitude of attentiveness and anticipation of the guest’s needs.

Assist General Manager in resolving guest complaints that are of concern to the sales team.

Maintain an active and visible position in the local community and industry.

Participate in community activities, team member functions and guest events.

Coordinate with other hotel departments and personnel, all sales information necessary for the professional execution of commitments.

JOB REQUIREMENT

  • Minimum 4 years successful experience in proactive hotel sales or 7 years non- hotel sales experience.

●    Strong communication skill both written and verbal

●    Work efficiently and productively

●    Microsoft Office & CRM knowledge

●    Assertive in establishing new customer relationship

●    Operational knowledge and appreciation of operational challenges

●    Guest relationship skills, excellent time management skills
